that's the AC3 track from dark_jedi's CAV ESB preservation (1425-84) Standard Play.
Believed to be the same Dolby Surround mix heard in cinemas.

Dark, I have a question about this one.
(I know it was a long time ago, but this question doesn't require too much memory ;)
Is this set from your personal collection, or did you borrow the LD from somebody?
If yours, and if you still have it, will you please tell where were the discs were pressed?
I'm guessin' the cover probably says "Printed in USA" but what about the discs themselves?
Do disc labels say "Manufactured in USA" or "Manufactured in Japan" or something else?
Thanks

I will have to get them out,but yes I have ALL the LD's I captured, they were all my personal LD's,special thanks to Russ for helping me acquire some of them.

Editdroid's SW 1977 DVD (Mysterious 720p Anamorphic LD Preservation?) (Released)
Time

The DVD video was created using the 1993 non-anamorphic LaserDisc version...

What caught my attention is the word "non-anamorphic"
After all "non-anamorphic LaserDisc" is surely redundant, Shirley. We know the editdroid team don't like redundancy. It was one of their gripes against "Mysterious Mysteries" moniker.

Indeed, we must consider the entire phrase "1993 non-anamorphic LaserDisc version", not just the word LaserDisc out of that phrase's context.
LaserDisc is an adjective there. And non-anamorphic also an adjective, which wouldn't be applicable to a noun LaserDisc. Grammar Nazi!

I'll leave it off the burn.

I'd recommend keeping and burning the *.torrent file itself
as well as "Star Wars Published Fourth Draft.doc", "Star Wars Revised Fourth Draft.txt", "Star Wars Second Draft.DOC", "Star Wars Third Draft.DOC" and at least the first 355,077 bytes of esbversion4.doc

Doing this allows to verify the integrity of VIDEO_TS against the SHA1 hashes stored within the *.torrent file.

P.S. I dig your sig

Corey Haim, dead at 38
Time

Never too surprising when a junkie dies young.
Lost one of my best friends a couple years back. He would've been 38 now.
Still, I'm sad to hear it. I enjoyed Haim's early work.
Ditto Brad Renfro and he was even younger.

Maybe I'll bust out Prayer of the Rollerboys tonight.
Ok probably not, but Lost Boys is a definite possibility....

so it looks like my only 2 sources are TB & G kar.

oh well.
Aren't those the only 2 sources max_rebo has, for the sequels ?
Quit feeling sorry for yourself and get to work!
Heck, 48 hours into it . . . I'd have thought you'd be done with the two sequels already.

^See that Frink? There I am whining again

Our source for REIVAX ANH is a torrent at the 'internal organ' place.
Don't laugh! It's not as crazy as it sounds....

sure would love to see this mysterious script enhancement myself and try it out,but does not look like that is going to happen

I find your lack of faith disturbing...

g-force said:

I won't be posting the updated script until all movies are complete and checked, but ANH is encoded.

g-force said:

the new script will be posted once I'm done with all 3.

g-force said:

Don't worry, I'll get ROTJ done eventually, and then I'll post all of the scripts.

Regarding ANH sample, the ****** RAR,s aren't compressed. Grab any one of the parts and open with VLC....

The Laserdisc FAQ appears to be wrong, according to posters in alt.video.laserdisc.

Read that thread, and it reminded me how much I miss Karyudo.

Try this one from videohelp.com
Cornucopia knows what I'm talkin' about.

Try goggling "NTSC 44056 47952" and count all the hits from digidesign.com
They seem to know what Cornucopia's talkin'bout

The Laserdisc FAQ mentions 44056Hz PCM. It's probably where I read it first.
Author doesn't say anything about AC3 sampling rate, so my hypothesis is still a WAG . . . but it makes perfect sense in my mind.

When film is shot, live action is sampled at a rate of 24Hz by the camera.
NTSC plays it back slower than that, by a factor of 1000/1001

When PCM is 'shot', analog sounds are sampled at a rate of 44,100Hz
NTSC plays it back slower than that (44056 if the FAQ is correct)

When AC3 is 'shot', analog sounds are sampled @48kHz then DD-compressed.
NTSC plays it back slower than that ???

I'd test the hypothesis using a hex editor to manipulate the WAV header...

... or force video playback to 24.000 and see if the 48kHz WAV syncs to that

Is LD ac3 48kHz or 44.1kHz?

It's 48kHz, 384kbps.

Dunno if it's true or not, but I recall reading that in NTSC-land PCM soundtracks are actually running at 44056Hz, or 44,100*(1000/1001).

Yes I understand PCM & AC3 are different beasts and we risk comparing apples to oranges, but I can't help wondering if the same principle applies?
48000*(1000/1001) = 47952Hz
That's in the neighborhood of 3sec difference per side.

Anybody seen Lymelife ?

Contains several SW references and (vintage?) toys.

While this ain't a review I will say I enjoyed the character portrayals of all the cast, especially Timothy Hutton and Alec Baldwin. Interaction between the Culkin brothers seemed genuine; surely Rory is the best actor in his family and did a fine job carrying the film.

Rory's character has a line "Some friend you are, Lando" which suggests 1980 setting; however the Iranian revolution ocurred a year and a half earlier, and almost two years would pass before "Galtieri took the union jack." Artistic license I guess.
Fine flick nonetheless. Check it out if you get a chance.
