Star Wars Canon EU (potential spoilers)

Bloodline's waiting on my Kindle, I should be getting to that within the next few days. I didn’t hate Aftermath, but I didn’t love it either. Lords of the Sith was cool in the beginning but felt interminable by the end. I’ll agree with the consensus that Lost Stars is probably the strongest so far.

I didn’t hate aftermath as much as most people. It just reminded me of the prequels in that it was a good story that was just not executed very well. Where good books suck me in and get me invested in the story so much that I kind of forget I’m reading a book, throughout aftermath I was very aware I was reading. Like it felt like I was reading Star Wars fan-fiction, rather than actually reading Star Wars. Lost stars felt like I was just reading Star Wars.

Not sure if that makes sense but it’s the best way I can describe it.

Star Wars Custom Blu Ray Saga Set (a WIP)
Time

Slight change in pace for the conversation. Anybody have any experience buying from this seller for bluray cases or have another seller they’d reccomend?

http://www.bluraysforeveryone.com/product-p/unknown102231.htm

I would love to eventually put this set in black cases as it looks really nice and would complement what they seem to be doing with the ST packaging. But so far this is the only place I’ve found that offers black, four disc cases. I’m just a little concerned because their site makes them seem a bit… how to put this… unprofessional. I’d rather not get screwed over for trying to get a slightly cooler look.

Of course the final covers will fit any 14mm spine (That seems to pretty much be the standard for 4 disc cases), but I still like the black look.

Is any of this new stuff other than Wendig’s mess written for adults? I think the above novels are YA.

Lost Stars was marketed as a YA, but honestly it is a totally enjoyable read for adults. It doesn’t FEEL like a YA novel. There’s sex and death and violence and stuff you wouldn’t normally find in a YA novel. I guess my point is that it doesn’t feel like you’re reading Twilight or Hunger Games or anything like that. It’s like the films, in that it is enjoyable by people of all ages. It really should have just been marketed as a straight novel, not as a YA novel.

Being that I didn’t see a thread for this (at least in the last couple pages) I figured I’d start one to discuss opinions on any of the new eu/canon eu/whatever you want to call it. The “non-legends” material. Be it novels, comics, video games, what have you.

I just finished “Lost Stars” and found it extremely enjoyable. Relatable characters who you are instantly invested in and care for. After the disappointment that was “Aftermath” which I did not enjoy very much (it was slow, contrived, non-organic) I was hesitant to jump into another new canon novel, but was blown away at the quality storytelling and character development.

Feel free to discuss any opinions you have on any of the new canon material. I am certainly more interested in what it has to offer now.

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)

Hi, I’m new here (and I don’t speach anglish so don’t be hard with me ^^) first I want to say thank you at you Harmy, for all your work 😃 You are my hero ! The force be with you, always.

I have 3 questions about the beautiful despecialized eddition 😃

  1. I don’t understand if the real SW is the 2.5 or the 2.7. When I say “the real” I talk about this one who was commming out in theater in 1977. Because some people said the yellow an the picturs is not good but that is the real colors of the movie no ? And if it’s not, why are the 2.7 some yellow picturs too ? So I wandering too if the 3.0 will be with yellow picture or without.

  2. I love the ESB 2.0 and the ROJ 2.5 so I wanderer what Harmy can change in 3.0 ? A friend say me in ROJ 2.5 with the scene of sarlacc, the pictures are too green. But that like SW 2.5 with yellow colors, is normal, that is what peoples saw in theator when the movie comming out no ?

  3. Sorry to be a noob but what is the real pictures of the movie between scan, GOOT, etc ?

  1. we don’t know. Read my reply in the 2.7 thread

  2. what can be changed in 3.0 is it is being done in 1080p and will be (I believe) completely GOUT free.

  3. this is probably just due to your lack of understanding of the English language, which is completely ok, but I’m not entirely sure what you’re asking here.

Harmy's Despecialized Star Wars 1977 - Color Adjustment Project for v2.7 (released)

I don’t understand yet if 2.7 is the real color, or almost but not quite at the real original movie, or realy the real color of the movie like it was in 1977. Someone know ? 😃

I have the same questions about ESB 2.0 and ROJ 2.5. Because some peoples say in ROJ the color is too green (Sarlacc scenes). (but I still like that)

The short, simple answer is we don’t know, but 2.7 is definitely closer than 2.5.

As for ESB and ROTJ, we probably will never know for sure since there isn’t a reliable color reference to base things off of.

Linking Policy

The only direct media links allowed are for short trailers, or short samples to demonstrate quality. You may also post direct links to fan-created DVD elements such as artwork, subtitle streams and unreleased/obsolete audio (this is NOT the same as rare/out-of-print. If in doubt, ask a moderator first.)

You may not post direct links to music albums, fan-created or otherwise.

Do not post links to torrents, Rapidshare/Megaupload or NZB files for downloading copyrighted materials, nor links to sites hosting such files. You are however allowed to mention names of websites or newsgroups where fan edits, preservation or custom DVD projects can be found.

Do not post links to websites selling bootlegs/silvers, or eBay auctions for non-official media.

In summary:

“Now available on a.b.starwars” - is acceptable.
“Click [HERE](http://www.anzbindexing site/nzb12345.nzb) for NZB” - is not.

“Torrent uploaded to demonoid” - is acceptable.
"Get the torrent at www.atorrentsite.com" - is not.

"Rapidshare links are available at fanedit.info" - is acceptable.
"RS links can be found on this page" - is not.

Furthermore, obfuscated or hidden links (i.e. links behind an icon or a single character in the post text) are still considered direct links and will be removed.

Look incredibly different, sound incredibly different, act incredibly different, but then again, so do Terrence Howard and Don Cheadle, and that worked out okay.

But you still haven’t explained how you did this without BVS being legally available yet.

And also, you are not allowed to post download links, especially since it was most likely pirated to begin with.

You could add some comical subtitles to the Sandpeople scuffle.

I’m considering it, but it would be helpful if more than one person thought it was a good idea.

Well it’s your lucky day!
Although come to think of it. It might not be worth it unless five people separately think it’s a good idea. Two may just be too small a sample size.
