Most widely accepted idea of God? And how, pray tell, did you come to the conclusion that this is the most widely accepted idea of God? Did you read any polls, any statistics which gauged how many Christians were hyperliteralists? Or is this just you making an assumption based on Hollywood Christianity and all the hardcore fundagelical loudmouths who go out of their way to draw attention towards themselves?

I’m basing it on life experience. That it’s the idea of God I used to believe in. I’m basing it off of knowing that most of my friends have some variation of this kind of belief and so do 90% of all the people I talk to. And again I don’t recall saying that Christians are all hyper literalist. My comment was about the general belief in a god. I made mention of some bible stories but all I said was it was stupid for people to believe them. I didn’t say that all Christians did believe them literally.

All my comment meant was that there is no evidence that any sort of God exists and it astounds me that certain people still believe a lot of the bs stuff in the bible.

And just to be clear. I’m not saying the people who believe these things are stupid. That’s actually what baffles me about it. There are insanely intelligent people who are rational about everything in their lives, and yet they believe in the invisible man in the sky who created the universe. It’s just astounding to me.

There is absolutely 0 evidence to support the existence of any god(s). It is a ridiculous ancient notion and I honestly can’t comprehend how intelligent, rational people in the modern age can believe in an invisible man in the sky who created everything and a centuries old man who rounded up two of every animal on a boat and a dirt man and a rib woman and a man living in a whale. It’s absolutely ridiculous. I’m sorry if this offends anyone but it’s all really silly.

FYI, not every Jew/Christian is a Young Earth Creationist who takes every part of the Bible 110% literally.

I didn’t say they were.

An inclusive universe and a new generation of fans.

I think there’s a difference between just putting an overly strong female protagonist with a love triangle in a movie because it’s all the rage since twilight and hunger games and just making a well fleshed out, relatable main character who happens to be female, which TFA did very successfully in my mind. What was brilliant about the marketing to me was that they really made you feel from the trailers and tv spots that Finn was going to be the main character, only to surprise you with an amazing female protagonist in Rey.

Harmy's Despecialized Star Wars 1977 - Color Adjustment Project for v2.7 (released)

Towne32, are you going to use the SE crawl like before, or are you going to try and get the '81 crawl from Darth Lucas that he says he’ll be done with soon (or he maybe already is)?

The crawl itself is already done and rendered into the film with 81-specific credits added to the end after the despecialized credits. If towne32 wants, I can put this into an mkv and put it on the spleen.

Only reason I haven’t done that yet is because I’m devoting my time entirely to working on my BD and helping out Williarob with other 81 crawl-related things. There’s been a lot going on in my personal life and for the time being I don’t have all that much free time to devote to hobbies like this. You may have noticed I haven’t been posting on the forum as often as usual for the past week or so.

When you were introduced to Star Wars for the first time
Time

Impossible for me to say since my parents never really properly “introduced” me to Star Wars. I was born in the 90s and had seen it many times since I was less than a year old. It’s just always sort of been there in my life from before I could even comprehend what it was.
I kind of wish my dad had made a conscious effort to not let me see it until I was five for so, so that I could actually have a “first Star Wars experience” that I remember.

Star Wars Custom Blu Ray Saga Set (a WIP)
Time

Hey guys, sorry there hasn’t been any updates. Life has thrown a lot of unexpected crap my way and I haven’t had much free time. But I am currently rendering a new version of the 81 crawl with the starfield poita posted over in yotsuya’s 81 crawl thread. This will be the final version of the crawl presented on the blu ray. I can’t keep going back to it over and over again, otherwise the disc will never get finished, but I can’t really imagine anything else coming that could make the crawl that much better, so I’m pretty confident in sticking with this version.

I’ll keep you all posted as things develop. I really just want to get to a point where disc 1 is behind me, because the remaining discs should be much easier.

The ads for the DVD and Blu-Ray releases are right in labeling it “the movie experience of a generation.”

Absolutely. If Episodes VIII and IX are anywhere near as good people will see TFA as the rebirth of the franchise.

Honestly a lot of that is going to ride on Rogue One and Han Solo as well. If those aren’t at least good, then people will start to be a bit less enthusiastic about Lucasfilms new direction.

Worst villain: The Emperor

They don’t explicitly say how he survived, just that he was able to grab onto a vent as he was falling, kept himself alive through his immense hate for Obi-Wan and Palpatine, and dragged himself to a garbage skiff and got dumped on a junkyard planet where he went insane until his brother found him.

I’m gonna assume that the lightsaber cauterized his wounds and kept him from falling apart. And who knows what the differences are in Zabrak anatomy. Maybe bisection isn’t too big a deal for them, especially when the Force is involved.

I mean in a universe where someone dies of a broken heart, you have to admit that this isn’t that far-fetched.

In all fairness, Darty Vader shouldn’t be alive after being burned alive by lava and inhaling so much ash. I don’t care how high tech your robot safety suit is, real world, that’s not gonna happen. At the end of the day it’s a fantasy. Some suspension of disbelief is required. As long as it’s not stupid like dying of a broken heart, I’m willing to accept some far fetched things.

Why the prequels shouldn't be about Anakin and Obi Wan

I’ve thought about this a lot. And I realized that had the prequels not focused on anakin and Obi-wan, or shown in some capacity the fall of Darth Vader, people would have been immensely disappointed. Even if they were great films, we all maybe would have liked them, but been disappointed that we didn’t get what we had all been hoping for and imagining for 20 years.

Exactly. My approach can be a downer upon announcement and not so much later on, but the other ruins another set of movies and people’s imaginations.

It doesn’t need to ruin anyone’s imagination. Yeah the prequels sucked, but if they were done well they very well could have expanded the imagination of the audience and given them new backstory and lore to imagine while enriching the experience of the ot. Now the prequels failed at this is most regards, but it could have been done.
