I was wondering if anyone is familiar with burning the avchd version on a Mac.
I can’t seem to find the blank dvd’s large enough to burn either New Hope of Empire strikes back, as they’re both above 8.5 gigs.
from what I understood, I had to just copy the files unto the disk in Finder to initiate the burning, but with the file size I don’t know what I’m to do?
does anyone have a solution, or would this require a Blu Ray burner, if so does anyone have any suggestions?
Burn to the 8.5gb discs. It’ll work just fine.
What you need to do is have a blank disc in the drive, then open the Star Wars disc file in disk utility and then just hit the burn button

Honestly, if you somehow made the GOUT look like that, that’s a far more impressive feat than what you’re actually doing. Maybe they were trying to compliment you in some odd way.

I’ve been wondering for a while. Would the topps cards generally be considered good color reference? I’ve got a number of near mint Star Wars and ROTJ cards that all have pretty good looking colors, although I don’t know how accurate they are.

That looks great! Very consistent. The second wide shot of threepio and artoo may be a tad bright, but that’s a minor nitpick.
I personally really liked the idea of a (carefully done) DNR’d version. However, the non-DNR version still looks fantastic and I’m fine with a DNR version being done afterwards as a supplemental thing, or done by someone else.
I’m really digging it. I know work has been done on the color correction/color grading since the LUT used, but has it been decided whether to keep the inconsistency between shots or to unify the color between shots as much as possible? Watching that sample I love how it looks in terms of the quality of the scan and cleanup work, but the varying color really takes you out of the experience, which is not what should be happening. I personally don’t think there’s any problem with making sure that the color between shots is consistent.
Also, not sure if this has been altered in the newer LUTs, but the first shot of the ships seems really blue to me.

A really nice HD recording of the 2004 trilogy would be helpful for my bluray set I’m working on as well.
That seems to take it a bit far, it is almost washed out now…
It’s a bit too bright, but it’s not far off from the contrast and saturation of the preliminary results I posted before the hight contrast/saturation version. However, we aim to please, so how about this:

Also worth noting that (even if it says it’s the Tantive IV in the script, novel, whatever) based on the numerous differences visible between the episode III ship and the one in SW, it’s reasonable to believe it’s a different ship entirely.
