As a corollary, any small overwhelmed force can defeat a much larger army as long as they don't loose faith. (See, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, The Matrix Revolution)
Mike Reagan had an OpEd piece about immigration that my paper ran last week. He said that the biggest problem with immigration is that because the government of Mexico is so corrpt, it's people can't live free from having to pay bribes and such. Basically if we want the flow of illiegal aliens to stop, we have to be proactive in getting Mexico to remove the corruption from its government.
The hard part, I think, would be getting someone who can really pull off Billy Batson. The only good child actor I can think of right now--Dakota Fanning--is a girl.
For the love of all that is decent, PLEASE, PLEASE tell me these people aren't serious. This site is so unprofessional and immaturely handeled, it is... unbelievable.
How's ^THIS^ for a science-fiction double-feature.
Dr. Nefarious: I SHALL COMBINE THE TWO GREATEST MOVIE TRILOGIES.. EVER! Lawrence: And how, sir, is that 'nefarious'? Dr. Nefarious: SHUT UP, LAWWREE-*zzztt* Oh, Janice... don't leave me. I love you!....
The Virtual Boy failed because it hurt people's eyes and got no support, and because nobody wants to play a system you have to wear on your head. And the 'only red and black' thing.
That said, Sony has taken a bunch of Nintendo's innovations and profited immensely from them, though it is largely Nintendo's fault Sony is even IN the game industry. They'd be partners instead of rivals if the Big N hadn't backed out of the original Playstation project.
Then again, I think I like it better with Nintendo the way it is. If they had joined forces with Sony, the industry would undoubtly be very different today.
Hey, I'm not dissing John Lennon's music, just his politics.
And I also hate the state of modern popular music. In my weightlifting class at school, our coach has a Radio and lets us listen to music. Sometimes he puts in his praise CDs (he recently became a believer) but on occasion he lets us listen to whatever we want.
Nobody ever sings along when it's on modern pop, rock, ect. stations. Even the better songs are largely ingored. On the other hand, the radio was set to a country station today, and EVERYBODY started singing along when "Friends in Low Places" and "Five'o'clock Somewhere" came on.
I guess what I'm saying is this: I hate the fact that most modern music is completely soulless and/or depressing. Please, sing about something other than your inner turmoil; you're going to give yourselves (and all of us) an ulcer!
As for why the reaction isn't the same with Lennon?
Good question. I guess it's because rap really does rot the brain, or something. Eh, I don't mean this in a racist way, but you know how some people are. They freak out if you say something negative about a black person and call you a racist, even if your comment wasn't so in the least.
