See, this site might be up in arms if the orginal Battle Star Galactika series was being ingored... But it's not. There are two completely independent canons that are both getting equal respect in DVD treatment as far as I know. This is not like the OOT versus the SE.

For me its more about the games than the price drops. Right now the only PS3 game I'm interested in is Resistence Fall of Man.

I thought it seemed to be takign inspiration from LOTR, no doubt, but I don't think that this means they 'ripped them off'... If you want to say that, you could just as easily say that Peter Jackson ripped off Ocarina of Time or any other fantasy epic.

I thought the visual style of the species in Narnia was distinct enough anyway. It's not like they had hordes of Urukhai.

Well, I want to say the Wii. It's cheaper, it's more innovative, and if the reviews reflect the general relative quality of its games over the next few years, it would be hard to not give it to the Wii. The 360 got a lot of flack starting out, but ultimately Microsoft has been a lot more sane about things than Sony this generation. I think people who want a high-definition experience will go with the 360 and people who want something new will go with the Wii... BUT...

There is one thing you can't ignore--the power of the Playstation brand. And I have a nagging notion that the power of the brand will mean the PS3 sells like wild once they have enough units to go around. Not that I think Sony 'deserves it' this generation.
