The Things We Hate And Love Thread .
Time
I'm not sure of the logic behind it, but our summer starts in June and ends in September. So when we get out for "Summer Vacation", We get out during our summer. Why summer? I think it has something to do with the heat. Summer was too unbearable in many parts of the country until the invention of Air Conditioners.

School around her used to go September to June, but they gradually moved it forward to August-May. I couldn't tell you why, though.

He was talking about ages. 14-18 years is typically the age of a highschooler in America.

Where I live, school is divided.

ElementeryKindergarden-5 (about 5 to eleven years old)
Middle 6-8 (eleven to thirteen)
Highschool (13 or 14-18 or 19; if you take summerschool highschool can be completed in 3 years)

Collgege/University doesn't have age restrictions. My 50+ year old aunt went to college a few years ago.

Ric, in the US we go from mid august to mid december, then from early january until the end of may, a total of circa180 days.

And it isn't tests that I find most stressful. It seems some teachers don't want to belive kids have a life outside their classes, and they'll load you down with homework and expect you to have it done. Unless you have a disfiguring injury or something like that.

But the worst part is watching her grow more beautiful for three years and knowing I am nothing more than a high-school aquaintance to her, and fearing that that is all I'll ever be.

The infamous chest grope

Yes. Oola's wardrobe malfunction is in the SE. I'm surprised they didn't edit that out.

And about the "infamous" topic of this thread, I watched RoTJ tonight and don't see what Starboy was talking about. Right after she gets shot, Han pushes her up against the wall and then Stormtroopers show up... And she shoots them.

This was probably just a rumor. or something.

must play games
Time
Well I agree with the "stop giving us crappy products and expecting us to buy it" part.

This has not been a good year for my gaming habit. I've wasted a lot on games I never play:
Call of Duty (my PC is crap, not that it's a bad game),
MGS Twin Snakes (stealth sucks!)
Ninja Gaiden (too hard to play it only on weekends and expect to beat it.)
AstroBoy Omega factor( I lost it AND my Bro's gameboy with it)
LoZ Collector's edition (I never play it...dunno why?)
Castlevainia SotN(It's fun but I am stuck. I never play games when I am stuck in them)
FF8(I got it for 12 bucks in Raliegh, and I have played it long enough to name my character and then got bored.)

I'm still holding out hope that this year will end with five major bangs.
(Halo II, Metroid Prime II, Paper Mario II, GTA San Andreas, Star Wars battlefront)

What did we all expect from the Prequel Trilogy?

It's true that Bossk doesn't do anything much in particular to advance the plot but in the context of the scene and by virtue of being included in a group of Bounty Hunters with Boba Fett he becomes more than a mere archetype and is given a small 'moment' which layers his character. Granted it's a thin layer but it's still thicker than any of the paint-by-numbers prequel characters.

I didn't say that! I just singled out Ric Olie because he is such a pointless character. Not all the prequel characters are like that.

Anywho, I here Pikmin 2 is superb. Might be under the radar for some, but the first was a very good and very dificult game.

Ok... But we don't learn anything about Ric, other than he is a pilot. So what?
The fact that Bossk dared to hiss at an Imperial officer on the bridge of a Super Star Destroyer tells us instantly that he is bad(good bad), and he isn't afraid of anyone.

Ric Olie is just some Nabooian pilot who seems to be on anti-depresants and likes to point out the obvious. As if we couldn't tell from the next few scenese that Coruscant is one big city. That line seriously needs to go.

Besides that is an understatement. The place covers a huge planet and is Kilometers deep. Even after being thrashed and settled on top of by the Yuuzhan Vong, there are miles of Coruscant buildings still standing under the new vegetation, and that is just above ground. It would take somebody longer to explore every inch of Coruscant than to travel to every system in the galaxy.
