Jimmy Carter is not a bad man--he was a bad president. Besides driving up inflation, he also was very naive when it came to foreign affairs--and he also lost our ally in Iran, The Shah.
And winning a Nobel prize doesn't really say much. Did not Mikhail Gorbachev also win one?

Well, this isn't exactly a matter of intelligence, but a long time ago, you had to own property to vote. The founding fathers did that intentionally: They wanted the voters to be people who had a stake in the government--that is, people who actually cared.
One problem with modern elections--on both partisans--is that they just get van loads of people who don't give a crap to go out and vote for them. If you don't care enough to get registered yourself, to go to vote yourself, then you shouldn't complain if your guy doesn't get elected.
That was half a reference to Reg, and half a day-dream about what SW would have been like if Jim Carrey had played Darth Vader.
Also, this would be a good time to point out that for satire to be funny, it has to have at least a small degree of truth to it. That's why Reg isn't laugh-a-minute hilarious.
PC tech evolves too fast. If you want to keep up, you might have to spend 500 dollars on a good PC, and everytime you turn around, your old one is obsolete, unless you buy upgrades every few months.
That and the fact that ever PC I touch dies withing 2 years.
