I thought the biggest beef people had with the Empire besides the destruction of Alderaan was their treatment of non-humans.

And perhaps it wasn't the Empire that was hated at all, but Palpatine. A bunch of people hate George W. Bush without hating America; people hated Hitler without hating Germany, and people hated Hussein
without hating the nation of Iraq.

It's possible that these people were only celebrating Palpatine's death and were still loyal to the Empire. It's also pretty clear in the EU that many Moffs and officers hated Palpatine. The Empire under Thrawn was much more efficent because Thrawn wasn't evil per-se, but just really cold... and the similar goes for Pealeon.

I don't know... There is a SW TV series planned, and if it's sucsesful, then there's no way. Also, the SW video games are getting better: I wouldn't even be posting this now if not for KOTOR.

As for how far into th future... I guess as far as Del Ray wants them to. As long as the droids live, there will be movie characters there to "tell the stories."

Now if only they could invent a super system that adapts to all new formats, we'd only have to buy one and it could play ANYTHING! I can't play any PS1 import games on my PS2, which sucks.
