Info: MagnoliaFan on MF.com
Time
Besides, most of us already own AotC and TMP on DVD or VHS, so it's not like we're getting the flick for free with Magfan's edits.

Anywho, it IS beyond hypocrytical for them to dis MagFan if their site has links to actual illiegal downloads of Episode III. It is also unfortunate that both MagnoliaFan and Millienium Falcon have the initials MF... but that's a topic for another thread.

It is a site dedicated to lambasting an snarking bad fanfiction in "Mystery Science Theatre 3000" style. Basically, since most fanfiction not only sucks, but is Batman and Robin-or-worse level crappy, it is a way to let of steam at the fact that most fanfiction is written by little kids who think that Legolas kissing Will Turner is hot because they're played by the same actor and other such inane crap.

No kidding. You wouldn't believe some of the utter steaming piles of crap that get posted there to be made fun of.

And some of it is just plain WRONG. In one recent story posted, there was a massacre in Metropolis... So Clark Kent leaves his wife Lois and goes to Gotham where he commits adultery.. with BATMAN. *cringes again*

Anime Question
Time
OK, now I've watched the whole movie and all I can say is that it is very WEIRD. ODD. STRANGE.

It's not a bad movie, and yet at the same time it makes me angry. As in Nausicaa, non of the warring factions are really "villains", and the only true "Bad Guy" is some sort of alien or demon that calls itself the "Deer God" which is either Miyazaki's idea of a bad pun, or something that just doesn't translate into English and retain it's straight-faced-ness.

Now why it made me angry? Well. The "Deer God" loses its head. Literally. And then it's body goes on a rampage, killing everything in sight... And rather than destroying it, (which probably would have taken weapons more sophisticated than what's available to the characters of the era in which the film is set) they appease the monster by giving it's head back...
Seriously, I was hoping for some sort of climactic battle between Ashitaka and the Deer God-cum-Sludge Monster... but no such luck there. Not only do they give the murderous monster what it wants, but then everything's OK, and the land is restored and the grass grows again. The "Deer God" dies, but in an odd selfish suicide rather than paying for its destruction and all.

Anyway, it was odd, but it had a good plot until the end. It finally made sense, at least. It's also urprisingly violent. Had it not been animated, it would have been rated R. Seeing the pyschotic Boars get blown to bits was nice , though.

All in all, I reccomend it if for nothing more than it's weirdness. 8/10.

Over casualness? What do you mean? People aren't up-tight enough for you?

Seriously though, Abercrombie/Fitch is something else I hate. They turned my brother into a preppy pod-person. And they're overpriced, the stores smell like too much cologne, and they play popular music, most of which sucks.

Then again, I could say the same for hot-topic, minus the smell.
