Thing is, it's a remake, but it's an entirely different game at the core. The gameplay is tighter, if a good bit less difficult, and the graphics and levels are completely redone. Kraid and Ridley are massive like in Super Metroid, and the post-Mother Brain section of the game is incredible.

Anyway, I recently got the Orange Box for my birthday and Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty 4 for Christmas.

Not played CoD or Assassin's Creed yet, but I must say this: Portal is awesome. The portal gun is one of the best mechanics I've seen in a game in years. So far, Half Life 2 is impressive, but it's not the awesome experience I was expecting. It's fun, but the pacing feels off. I've been on a huge stretch of sheer action for two hours of game-time with no end in sight. Team Fortress 2 is fun, but the lag online is ridiculous, and I've not tested out Episode One or Two yet.

Still, for Portal alone I'd recommend a rental.

At the rock show I saw the night before those pictures were taken, I was told that I looked like a young Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails).

But then again, I think the same person also said that I looked 28, so I think they'd had a few drinks too many.

Actually based on that photo 28 would be in the range of my best guess.

Christianity was spread by warfare, Sean?

The times in history that Christendom went to war for Christianity were the worst in terms of spreading Christianity's influence. It's largest spreading has been, time after time, accomplished through the opposite of warfare, if anything.

According to my history teacher.

Even if your history teacher wasn't distorting facts, Christianity wouldn't be a religion of violence. Nowhere in the New Testament are followers instructed to spread the faith through violence; the people who tried to do so were jerks who weren't paying enough attention to Scriptures.

Tell me, sean wookie: What color is the sky in your world?

It's what I'd like them to do not what I'd expect them to do.

...why on Earth would you want them to do these things? The President gets paid to run the country, not run it into the ground.

Most of my reasons for what I support have good moral reasons. And this president ran the country into the ground pretty horribly. Fucking Neocons are Anti-American.

So you want to replace Neo-Cons with far left lunatics. Talk about trading down.

Why you so against Huckabee, I like the hell outta the guy.

1. He really likes to raise taxes. (The fact he now claims that a democrat-run legislature forced him to support tax increases is cowardly, probably a lie, and another reason to not like him.) He called a pro-taxpayer group in Arkansas a group that was pro "greed." At the very least he thinks it's okay for our government to take in too much money.

2. He really likes wasteful spending on supposedly compassionate programs. He actually thinks he's on a mission from God to waste taxpayer dollars and destroy our economy in the name of helping the poor. He just recently criticized George W Bush for vetoing that horrible s-chip bill the democrats tried to pass! He's a religious nut without a proper perspective of ethics (or the bible for that matter).

3. He was incredibly friendly to illegal immigrants. For instance, he wanted to give free, in-state tuition to the children of illegal immigrants. If you think having Bush in office is bad on immigration, wait till Huckabee gets in. I don't believe him if he says he'll be tough with immigration.

I think I have more problems beyond this, but I can't remember them at the moment. Those are at least the big ones for me. He's only, perhaps, good with judges. (I say perhaps because he doesn't understand the proper role of the federal government and probably wouldn't know an "originalist" judge if he saw one. All he cares about is abortion and there are more concerns out there.)

...Holy crap... I was actually considering voting for this guy come primary time.

If all that is true, I'm leaning more and more towards Guliani. I know he's got some unwelcome liberal view points, but he's fiscally more conservative than most candidates up there and is strong on national security. Immigration is the big sticking point. Thompson and Romney most closely reflect my own views, but Thompson has had a poor showing since he announced his candidacy and Romney strikes me as dishonest....

Ugh. This election is so easy in a way: all three of the Democrat candidates are horrible. On the other hand, none of the Republican candidates strike me as strong Conservative leaders. The conservatives are weak candidates and the strong candidates are moderate in some form or fashion.
