On the matter at hand, Lucas has said the EU is an alternate universe of sorts. So... what the hell does it matter if the prequels are contradicted? I think they need to let a circle of writers take the EU canon wherever the hell they want, without direct influence from Lucas or some obscure RPG dude from the stone age like The Boost brought up.

Like that'll ever happen.

best light saber duel

Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan VS Darth Maul is one of the few memorable parts to come out of the prequel trilogy, if not the only. I liked it back in 99 and like it today. Sometimes I'll go back and watch just those scenes.

Forget AOTC.

Obi-Wan VS Vader in ROTS was all flash with no substance. Only the enviroment itself is what kept my attention from wandering in '05, and today I never watch it all the way through.

Obi-Wan VS Vader in ANH is cool, albeit pretty sluggish in parts.

Luke VS Vader in ESB is spectacular all around. Vader really comes undone and lays down the law on Luke, who manages to hold his own for quite a while.

Luke VS Vader in ROTJ is one of the few watchable parts of the film, but I still prefer the ESB duel.

It is so exhausting trying to have a conversation on these boards. Alll 99.999999999999% of you do is say how much you hate this or how Lucas destroyed that. You cant post a single thing without saying something negative about Star Wars.

I would say more positive things, you know, if there were more positive things about Lucas & Co.

Yeah, Dark Lord works better as a bridge for ROTS-ANH than TFU ever did. When closely examined, the plot of TFU makes absolutely NO SENSE at all. Dark Lord, while definitely not the best written EU, at least was written with applied talent and intelligence.

As for the ROTS novelization: heck, even though much of it was written minimalistically and with little description, it held more emotional weight than what we got in the film by far.

"If you don't like it"

That's actually the smartest thing anyone has every said around here.  "If you don't like them, then don't watch them."  It's as simple as that.

I don't mind the prequels, and I like all six of the films as they are.

That part is at least cute in its misguided nature. The part where he makes the indirect accusation that Adywan is "sabotaging" the PT is what's laughably stupid.
