MBJ's going to take my geek card again but, what reference are you refering too...

ADM, I COMPLETELY approve of your ideas for ROTJ, it maintains the DVD quality of the movie AND it takes out the horrible SE song, you put back the Shaw image. My Gosh, if this disk is as good as it sounds and your ANH turns out just as well, I may never have to start my own personal project.

For ANH and "Han shooting first". Here's only a minor minor suggestion which could easily be ignored and tossed out - NO DanielB demanding here.

- If you take the last frame of Han's speech, "I bet you have", just before you see Greedo and Han sitting at the table.
- Copy it
- Insert it back.
- Copy the blaster flash from ANY available OT LD back up.
- Insert that
- Then compress the audio like you said you have already done.

You will have 99.9% of the Original sequence.

None of this excuses the FACT that YOU chased off what could have been the definitive back up, used for any number of great personal projects.

None of this explains how WE are going get a decent copy of the OT.

If you're such a decent person - why have you pissed off so many people???

My gosh, I haven't posted so much to this board since I signed on. I understood that I have very little to add because, I have little tech knowledge, I don't have cool equip or software, I only have one set of OT LD's (which are promised to Zion, if he still wants them), SE OT LD's and the 2004 DVD's. BUT YOU have disrupted 2 maybe 3 excellent projects. FOR WHAT!!! Because you don't like the way somebody uses the term "PRESERVATION"!!!! , because you disagree w/ how somebody uses the "OT Preservation Board".

WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM???

Anyway, I don't get...

It's easy to say "Just ignore him", shoot I was thinking the same thing, but I don't have my own personal project going on (so I'm isolated from attacks). It's when DanielB actually started chasing away the productive members of the forum, that's what really torqued me off. I actually didn't have the time to read what he was saying, BUT I saw the effects. (i.e., Zion gone / threatens to leave, MBJ threatens to leave, Laserman's XO project ceasing)

"OMGosh, what the heck is going on here"

Now I'm personally getting hurt because of ONE STUPID, NO JOB, NO PROJECT, NO TALENT, NO CLASS, NO BRAIN, NO SENSE, PINKO COMMIE, JERK LOSER!!!

At this time in my life I don't have the time to invest in doing my own project (though, I'm trying to gather material here and there) so, I am SO appreciative what others are doing or are willing to provide. I wish I could support more than I've already pledge.

I really was going to ignore "him", the problem is he has chased off the members who are actually doing something about "Preserving the OT". That is what has upset me...We risk loosing the OT in it's original form or any VERY close facsimiles(sp?).

Truth be told I'm actually a pretty staunch PT / Lucas apologist, BUT "Han shoots first"...

I like the new battle at Yavin, I like the Jabba scene, I like the new Emperor, the new Cload city doesn't bother me, I can understand the new (but prefer the original) Anakin scene at the end of ROTJ, but, but, BUT "Han shoots first"...Oh the blasphemy of any other interpretation

Anyway because of DanielB, my personal project might not get the quality that "I" (me, myself, I) want it to be. (Digressing, it sounds like "ADigitalMan" will do about 99% what I want to do, so hopefully he doesn't get chased off also).

Take note DanielB how I'm going to try to use the available sources to do what "I" want,YOU could have done the same. Unfortuneatly YOU chased off what potentially could have been an EXCELLENT resource...Thanks a lot

Karyudo, I sent Laserman a PM about a donation. But he hasn't responded yet. Hopefully he'll be back when soon.

Also, If I had time to make an excellent set of DVD's I WOULD IGNORE AND DENY THE F'ING JERK SH#T-HEAD "DANIELB" ANYTHING I MADE. I Suggest the @sshole that has almost chased off Zion and MBJ be denied ANYTHING HE WANTS and simply be told to F-OFF!!!

Oh NO, I am not DanielB.

I wanted to come here and CHEW HIS BUTT OFF for almost chasing away some of the cool people on this board (the f-ing JERK!!!), but I don't have time to follow this stuff as closely as I wanted.

Now I get what you are saying Laserman...NO, I am NOT DanielB.

I'm SO paranoid that nobody will give me a copy of any of the COOL stuff going on here.

Especially because all I have for internet connection is STUPID dial-up

So hopefully if I ask politely enough people (rolling dice) I'll get what I want. (a GREAT Transfer and a de-SE'd DVD) :nerd:

One more thing the Commercial version of the 6th Gen Panny PDP doesn't have the auto-contrast-thingy you talked about (or is it contrast-auto-thingy = CAT's). My old 65" Mit's RPTV did, but not the commercial Panny.

Have you been keeping up to date w/ the OT LD b/u's going on on this board??? (It's all techno babble to me, but...) Are you applying some of the filtering / sharping ideas going on here???

Some of the screenshots here really make me look forward to the next generation. Have you considered sending some screenshots here for comparison???

Have you considered a de-SE'ing DVD set like the one at starwarslegacy.com??? (My PM is working)

Laserman, Thanks for the reply.

I'm married so I have no more money to buy cool toys (i.e., DVI/HDMI blade and player, HDMI/DVI cable, scaler or ISF Calibration ) - though I may save my pennys from allowance for the cal.

I bid for a Pioneer Elite CLD-79 on e-bay, but lost.

Two questions:

1) What's CATS???
2) How do explain the diff w/ the '97 SE LD???

1) Check your PM

2) In the "Han Shoots First" scene, did you add back the 2 - 3 frames that were taken out of the OT??? All it is is Han saying, "I bet you have", then a blaster flash, then it transfers to Greedo.

As for the 2-3 frames of blaster flash, I feel you could get away w/ adding just one frame since the first 1-2 frames are just a small bit of the flash that barely shows on Han's boot.
