I GUARANTEE you that you're just thinking of the pan & scan version, which cuts off the sides of the film to fit it on a "fullscreen" 1.33:1 TV.  That shot has always been there, I remember it, it's on my GOUT DVD.  IIRC it's *after* Han enters the base, but I could be wrong.  If not, I highly, highly doubt that there were two identical shots, one right before Han enters, and one right after.

And about the extra Wampa stuff, I don't believe much of the footage has ever been released other than a few moments in trailers (like C-3PO tearing the sign off the wall).

Do they show P&S versions at the theatre? Cuz thats were I saw it and Im sure it was widescreen.

Yes its just before Han enters the command center. It was shown on the 1997 theatrical release but removed on the VHS release.

Mmmm.   Not to sound doubtful, but the "I saw it once but it was cut out on the VHS/DVD" memory phenomenon seems to happen a lot in the SW community.

It wasnt just me but a group of us that went and noticed we had never seen that shot before but when the VHS came out it wasnt on it.

there was only ever one version of the 1997 theatrical SE which all prints were taken from. the VHS & laserdisc were exactly the same as the theatrical release as they were taken from those prints. there was never an extra shot added before han enters the command centre. there was a bootleg VHS copy of ESB SE floating around which was filmed in the cinema and there was no extra shots. it was exactly the same as the VHS which is why i never kept it.  This is the same type of thing that happened with ANH when people swear that they saw Luke miss with the grappling hook and that the Luke & Biggs scene was shown in theatres. memory is a funny thing.

Some Canadian theatrical prints of the 1997 "Special Edition" contained an added scene just before Han is shown entering the command centre on Hoth. The shot is inside the command centre and focusses on a "white C-3PO" using a penlight on a glass map. Then, the movie continues as normal and Han is shown entering the command centre. This scene was not present on the video release.

I googled it and found on IMDB that there was a shot before Han entered the command center and that this isnt just me and my 5 friends thinking we remembered something. Its true that there was another scene.

Don't believe everything you read on IMDB. Anyone can add so called facts on this site. they add them all the time and many have been proved wrong.

Well I would love to be proved wrong here because as I said its not just me that remembers it but a group of us and then I find online verification which cant be all coincidence.

I also just saw this on IMDB. Is this footage available anywhere even in rough form?:

Further scenes with the Wampa were shot, and later cut. R2-D2 encountered one within the Rebel base, where it was killed by troopers. Later, the beasts were lured into a prison within the complex. In the completed film, a medical droid is seen examining the wounds of a tauntaun killed by a Wampa, and Princess Leia mentions the "creatures" while discussing the Imperial probe droid. A scene filmed but cut had Han, Leia and C-3PO running through a corridor. Han went to take a short-cut through a door with a sign on it, but Leia warned him "that's where those creatures are kept". They run off, but not before C-3PO rips off the sign, hoping that the stormtroopers will enter the room

1st image: i changed the clouds so the light focus point luke in the antenna.

2st: image Bespin seems to change colors...

I took some of planet's detail from vader's arrival to executor so the planet isn't total black. also i thought the lens flare is a bit odd.

Very cool vaderios. As you said, the 1st one brings more attention to Luke and helps you see him better and the last one you can see more detail of the planet.

That should make it rather difficult to verify then, not to mention impossible for a forum member to possess the footage.

Well I wasnt sure if it was available elsewhere, thats why I asked.

Heh, don't get me started on Return of the Jedi. Apparantly everyone was either a captain or a commander in that movie. Hey, maybe that's the Empire's way of cutting down on spending, only making one type of badge for everyone ;=)

Or maybe they just got tired of Vader going through officers like Kleenex, and figured, hey, at this rate they'll ALL be promoted to captain eventually, so why bother with the other rank insignia? ;)

You mean this guy?

This is the scene just after Han enters, and just before he starts talking to General Reiken.  Are you saying you remember seeing a shot of this droid before this (i.e., before Han enters the command centre)?  If so, I'll check my VHS tape from the 80s... if any of the original releases had such a shot, I imagine this one would.

On the Canadian theatrical version SE there was a shot in the Hoth command center of a white C3-PO which was later removed. Ive never seen this. Is it available online or anywhere for that matter and if it is, is it worth considering adding it?

Just to clarify DI, the white droid is there behind the female Rebel operator, in a couple of shots before the ION Cannon fires, and is featured in the GOUT as well as the SE versions.

It's even whiter now thanks to Adywan -  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UN8YIR60Ij0&feature=channel

But if Bobba is still around (and his voice was changed) then the Stormtroopers should still have Jangas voice no?

Clone troopers aged at double rate, Boba at single rate.

According to PT canon, the Kaminoan cloners kept Jango - the original - around so that they could copy his genetic makeup when they needed to.

With Jango dead and Boba obviously keeping his distance from the Republic, they can not do this any more.

The cloners need someone else for their template, or the stormtroopers are recruits like in much of the EU.

Cool thanx for that info. That makes sense. I appreciate that.

One thing that annoys me is in the SE is that when Han & Leia are walking into the trap of the waiting Vader, we have the new SFX that shows a better view of Cloudy City and a lift.  But in the next shot we have the original browny white background again.

Dude, you really need to read all the previous posts. All the points you keep bringing up have been answered one way or another!!

And for the love of god, change your sig. It's more tha just one person asking now!

Im sorry if it has been brought up before but Im not going through nearly 300 pages of posts to see if possibly my thought has been brought up. Im sure you can understand this. A simple, "It will be taken care of," or whatever isnt that hard Im sure. Most people have been kind enough to quickly answer my query. Thanx.

As for the sig. I hadnt had a chance to change it cuz I was asleep but I dont see what the big deal was really. Its not hard to tell the diff between a cover of a book as a sig and someones mock up of TESB. Have you ever seena anything remote to my previous sig in Empire? I hadnt. Anyway Im not here for dramas. Lets get back to what we're here for.

Why dont all the Stormtroopers have Temuera Morrison's voice like Bobba?

The canonical reason (I guess EU) is that most of the Stormtroopers are not clones by that point - most are recruits/drafted. Most of the clones have died or retired (given that they age at the double rate).

But if Bobba is still around (and his voice was changed) then the Stormtroopers should still have Jangas voice no?

And is the 'white C3-PO' footage at the Hoth command center available at all?

That Deathtroopers sig is just obnoxious... sorry but its tru I keep thinking its an actual mock-up but then I realize its your sig... *sigh* just use it as your avatar, is it THAT important?

lol How is it obnoxious? I like it as my siggy and thats were its staying soz. BTW Ive tried multiple times to make it my avy and has hasnt worked. Its THAT important that you have to go off-topic about someones sig? Move on dude.

Back to Empire:

When Han is put into Carbon Freeze, he's wearing a tunic style shirt but when Han is frozen, he's wearing the shirt from ANH. Then in ROTJ when Han is unfrozen, he's wearing a double breasted shirt. Can this be fixed  up at all or is that to complex?

Each to their own! As was said, its Adys edit. Thats like some models saying that they dont like to show their boobs as its better to leave it to the imagination but Id rather see the boobs. Just like here (no I dont wanna c the wampas boobs), Id prefer to see the wampa. If you were there, wouldnt it be scary seeing the wampa come after you? (Not if you're a future Jedi!)
