Continuity isn't the whole point of Ady's Revisited projects, it's just part of the point (it's more about making Special Editions which are truly special and work as good as they can).

The continuity problem will be  sorted out when the PT:R films come out and Jengo, Boba and the clones get a re-dub.

Where possible Ady is changing the PT to match the OT not the other way around and Boba sounded so much better with his original voice.

This is just one of the posts that gave me the impression you dont like the PTs Ady  and feared what you had instore for them hence my comments but that was like 7 pages (and 2 days ago!). Talk about flogging a dead horse. I thought that convo was dead and buried. Im glad you enjoy the Clone Wars as I do to. Anyway lets move on....again!

The main reason he is cutting that one is because he is reinstating the "Bring my shuttle" line which most people think is better. Vader's shuttle is already there. I have lobbied to either have the shuttle painted or cropped out. It's just a 3 second shot &  I don't believe it hurts pacing, but others disagree with me.

Ahh I see. It would be nice if we could see the shuttle land as Vader walks  out to the platform. Then we could have the best of both worlds.

So to annoy you guys more, why does Ady want this scene removed from the Revist edits?:

It doesnt detract from the pacing of the film. If the background has been recycled, cant it be changed as Ady has done for the other backgrounds?

The top shot may have been done because same exact background is used when the people stop in the hallway and listened to Lando's evacuation announcement. Even though for that one it was used in reverse (flipped/mirrored)).

And yes it would be pain in the ass for ady to add the buildings, plus it ruins the awesome claustrophobic feeling.

It was changed because it looked like shit. Ady's new background matte is 1000% better.

 

I dont notice any difference in quality apart from the colour correction. All I see is the pic is different. Why couldnt the pics remain the same but the background just be fixed up to Ady's (and ya'lls) liking?

 

As I recall there are two main reasons -

Firstly the same sky / cloud / atmosphere backdrops were used for varying locations - sometimes simply mirrored. and secondly the layout of buildings show no sense of continuity when viewing the same location from various camera angles.

If you don't notice a difference then I guess that's a good thing since it shouldn't be distracting.

 

Thanx for the specifics. Now I understand. No I wasnt looking that hard at the background to be honest but I hate continuity issues.

Oh so its a continuity issue. Cool now I understand. Thanx guys again for filling me in.

I knew Ady wouldnt change it without a reason, I just didnt know what it was.

 gawd you depress me so much when you say things like that. I love ANHR and ESBR seems to be right on track as far as quality and vision goes. Yet your vision of the pequels seems to be the same as everyone elses and that means gutting them. With everything you've said that you are taking out of the prequels there doesnt seem to be enough material left for one movie, let alone three. Im just sad I wont have a revisited prequel trilogy to go along with the OTR.

And I hope that Ady in no way takes offense to what I said. I think some members took one thing I said and ran with it. I love the OT edit he is doing atm and am looking 4wd to the rest of the edits in the series. I watched ANH for the first time the other night and watched it again today and I love it. In fact I hadnt watched ANH for about 5 years now and then I watched twice in 1 week and this is the way it should have been. Some of the thing Ady did in ANH completly surprised me and looks like it was done by ILM. Thanx Ady.

Im not offended, Im not Lucas!! And yes the PTs are a long way off and like I said before, just like the OTs, I might be pleasantly surprised by the PTs. Here's hoping! ;)

It = Ady's PT edits. It was me turning your statement against itself.

Obviously if Im saying that he shouldnt watch them if he doesnt like them then Im not going to watch his Revisit of the PT if he ends up sabotaging it based on his dislike for them. If he doesnt like them then why touch them? Its not that hard a concept to grasp I dont think. He just should stick to the OT and not watch the PT just as I wont watch his PT if he sabotages them based on his dislike for them.

Besides you're jumping the gun because I dont even know how Ady's edit of PT will turn out. I was sceptical of the his version of OT but he proved me wrong and I love them and he may do something extraordinary for PT. We'll just have to wait and see. Like I said I was basing my 'sabotage' comments on his planning on ripping them apart. Anyway we're still awaiting for ESB here and have a long way to go b4 PT.

I dont think the PT should really be touched that much. If you dont like them then dont watch them let alone re-edit them. It sounds like your planning on sabotaging them Ady.

I agree. I dont know why so many people are down on the PT but I loved them. Better than living with the same 3 movies your entire life.
