As far as I know, no member of this community has that print though.
Crashing the engine. Maniac Mansion
Right now I am being ignored by skyjedi2005. I don't remember what I did to offend him/her, nor if it was before or after my large absence that ended a year or two ago.
I removed the only person I was ignoring because he hasn't posted in ages.
I click reply with quote a couple times and copy and paste to only one reply.
I want to talk about three issues that are taking place in the off topic forums. Of the three things mentioned in the thread title, I am only responsible for the last one. First of all, if the whole Classic Roc/Hopscotch thing is a forced meme and too childish, I apologize.
There are two other weird things going on in the forums recently. First is the Dune threads that occurred yesterday (as of this writing). Can somebody explain how they came about? What caused them to start being created. I know I missed something but I'm not sure what.
The final point, and the one that is most worrying, is DrCrowTStarWars bring back random threads from 10 years ago for no reason. This, combined with the Dune spam, succeeded in taking several threads that have recent responses to page 3.
I know that Off Topic is unmoderated, but I think this is taking things a bit too far. Can somebody explain the Dune spam and the necrobumps?
Necrobump -.-
I don't know who this guy is, but since profiles state when people are last online, there was no need to bump this thread.
Necrobump Triple Post. That's a new one...
OK, you asked for it DrCrow
There is nothing right about eating up a dead thread.

...DS9 had a more complex storyline than TNG or Voyager, and that's a harder sell to fickle studio executives who want a blockbuster movie they can easily promote to non fans.
Agreed. The movie would have to start with a lot of exposition that would, by necessity, spoil much of the series. A Voyager movie can only go four ways.
1. The status quo doesn't change.
2. Something like "The Caretaker" but with the array used to take the cast home. See 3
3. Alternate Universe that may or may not be canon.
4. Post-"Endgame" reunion.
I can see why the TNG cast was used for the movies. TNG doesn't have complex story arcs like DS9, nor does it have an overall goal that would interfere with movie making like Voyager. Using the TNG cast would have been the safest option at the time.
Sorry Frink, you aren't a mod or admin...yet. O.O
Hopscotch.
Hopscotch.
(Makes just as much sense as the Dune spam. Did I miss something?)
XD
I would like to pretend that the show ended in the classic era, before the sexualization of the reboot. I say would like because I can't decide whether to have my personal canon end right before the Time War ends (possibly including the K9 tv series, due to mostly being disconnected from nuWho) or bypass nuWho entirely and end before 8's regeneration. The reason involves possibly writing crossover fanfic and whether Magic School Bus 360 will be a complete continuity reboot or be in the same continuity as the old show, with different students. (Don't ask)
Hopscotch.

(Now that I got that dumb joke over with...)
Hopscotch.
from SupaChao sprite sheet:
Hopscotch.
Vote for Palpatine! Give him power, and, according to Anakin, he will guarentee "the less freedom with more wars.
Like this not good?"
Quoted section comes from Backstroke of the West (35:13 on my copy). Why that line isn't a meme I'll never know...
I'll say this, Disney won't put the OUT and the SE on the same disc like Paramount/CBS did with Star Trek TOS and the Original/CGI. The SE's of Star Wars have too many changes to try to sync with the OUT, unlike Star Trek, where the CGI version syncs perfectly with the original. It would be more likely to see Disc 1 being the OUT and Disc 2 being the SE.
Can you name the unremastered episodes?

...They only went the CGI route because the original negatives for the special effects shots were lost so those could not be restored and broadcast in HD like the rest of the content...
Explain the original shots being used in the blu-ray's then...

You can pick the the early two episode DVD releases pretty cheap on Ebay these days. Was watching a couple the other night, and they still look good, especially compared to what I saw on tv as a kid. :)
That's fine if you like old transfers. If you want a pre-cgi transfer that looks decent, look up either the japanese star trek laserdisc sets (Log 1, Log 2 and Log 3 for each season) or the 2007 european "Star Trek: The Original Series - The Collector's Edition" dvd set. Both use the same transfer, and before the post 2007 cgi releases were considered the best looking sources. Note that these transfers may or may not be more consistant than the blu-rays with "original shots" mode on. I heard that the ladder was done in a way similar to our communitys despecialized, mixing the post 2007 cgi transfer (used for most footage) with a new transfer of the original footage that may or may not be either HD or restored in any way (used only for the shots that had changes in the post 2007 cgi transfer). Can anybody correct me on that last point, if possible?
meaning nobody posts until September.
[offstory]In the meantime, keep this thread locked until then[/offstory]
2013 DCP? At the risk of sounding like an idiotic ignoramus, is that different from the public 2014 grindhouse edit?
