I’d love to see the finished Spider-Man trailer. I have an SD version downloaded from way back when it was first put online, but I think that’s the only version I’ve ever seen.

A Goofy Movie - 4K HDR10 - DTS 2.0 HD-MA and DTS-X
Time

thebiggerpictures said:

After speaking with the director Kevin Lima about the sound mix it was confirmed that Goofy Movie was indeed originally mixed and presented theatrically in select theaters in Dolby 5.1. An anonymous source - who shall remain anonymous - was able to provide me with the discrete 5.1 music and effects only track (used for dubbing other languages) in late January. That 5.1 mix is very clearly NOT an upmix with plenty of discrete activity in all channels. The rear channels are mostly mono but do have some stereo activity. Specifically I noticed stereo separation during the vacation montage sequence when bats come out of a cave and during the roller coaster shot plus when Powerline makes his stage entrance.

Even though I had completed the new mix, armed with this new source I preserved my work and then scrapped my original mix.

The primary issue with using the new source was that the vocals are obviously missing. I went through the original lossless laserdisc track and used the upmixed Center channel which removes all directional activity and then added it back into the 5.1 mix as the new center whenever dialog was occurring. When no dialog was active I was able to default/switch back to the 5.1 music and effects track. There are a few select times that vocals come solely from Left and right (during the musical numbers On the Open Road and After Today) plus there were some scenes with directional left/right pans (secretary in chair offscreen, goofy being bumped offscreen by Pete in department store, scene where Bigfoot chases max and goofy into the side/rear channels.)

I was careful to swap in my previous remix into those specific instances to blend it back and of course I had to Time align the entire master and eq. My discrete overhead and rear surround effects were redone with the stronger separated elements.

The musical numbers did contain the original Center vocals for the Powerline numbers so whenever Powerline sings I didn’t have to change out the center unless someone was speaking over his singing.

It was mixed with 4 overhead channels plus 7.1 base for the final output and rendered in lossless 12 channel and then encoded into DTS X with compatible 7.1 and 5.1 downmixes.
Due to the nature of overlaying a center channel at times, for playback on a stereo 2.0 system with no discrete center the original theatrical 2.0 lossless mix will offers the better experience, but for those with a discrete 5.1 or higher system the new mix rocks.

It will be sent to Kevin for notes within the next few weeks.

Consider me excited!

Andy Richter Controls the Universe
Time

Thanks to a super helpful assist from @TVArchive, I have been able to obtain and upscale the 720p HD episodes to 1080p HD, and I can make them available to those who request a link.

Two of the 720p episodes I received were encoded at a frame rate of 29.97, so I corrected those to the proper 23.98 fps. I also fixed several glitches (missing frames, broadcast interruptions, etc.) that were likely a problem with the original HDNet broadcasts… and, for good measure, I added subtitles.

PM me if interested.

Andy Richter Controls the Universe
Time

I’d love to get my hands on any/all of the episodes of Andy Richter Controls the Universe in HD. I have digital recordings of the SD episodes as they originally aired on FOX (with the original music) as well as the US DVD release (with altered music and a zoomed and cropped image for every episode produced during the first season), but I know that the series aired in HD on FOX, and it also aired on HDnet (including the unaired episodes) at some point.

Does anyone have access to the HD episodes that aired on FOX and/or HDnet?

Journeyman - 2007 TV Series in full HD
Time

Update: While I would still love to get access to this series in true 1080p HD, I was able to upscale the entire series, and it looks phenomenal. I put a lot of care into every episode, using the 720p HD source when possible, and using the DVD source to obscure network logos.

There were several instances where I had to go frame-by-frame to correct little things, but I’m very pleased with the result. If I didn’t know it was upscaled, I’d honestly have no idea it wasn’t true 1080p.

If anyone would like access, PM me. I forgot how amazing this show really was until I just re-watched it. (I can’t believe it’s not available to stream anywhere.)

I’ll dig around and see what my episodes look like. Do you remember the source (station ID or bug) yours are from?

Episode 1 appears to be from a pre-release screener; it looks the best.
Episodes 2, 5, 8, 10, 11, & 12 are from an unknown NBC HD station.
Episodes 3, 4, 6, & 13 are from NBC 4 HD.
Episodes 7 & 9 are from Global HD (Canada).

What are the average file sizes of your 720p mkvs? I have that series and as I recall it looks pretty good in 720p. I may have a different set.

Each episode is about 1.15 GB. My main issue with the quality is related to some dropped frames (specifically when ads pop up) as well as some pixelation and coloring issues related to the de-interlacing process.

Journeyman - 2007 TV Series in full HD
Time

If you ask me, Journeyman is the best series most people have never heard of, and I feel it’s a crime that it’s not available to stream or purchase anywhere in the US.

It was briefly released on DVD in the UK, and I (of course) purchased those discs while they were available. I can confirm that the episodes are complete with original music intact, but I’ve always hoped a true 1080p HD version would become available eventually.

What I have:
• the original NBC broadcasts in 720p MKV format (converted from 1080i 29.97 fps to 720p 23.98 fps - quality is okay, but not great)
• the UK DVDs (PAL SD quality)

What I’d like:
• true 1080p HD versions, if anyone has access to a source I’m not aware of…

What I can do, worst case scenario:
• use Topaz Video AI to upscale the files I have to 1080p, blending the best portions from both DVD and broadcast sources…

Unless anyone is able to suggest a better option, I’ll probably go with the AI upscaling, but I wanted to see what this community might have access to before I go through the hassle.

Help: looking for... Joey (2004 Friends spinoff), in HD
Time

For clarity, I was able to find season 1 in HD. For season 2, I have low resolution (~624x352) widescreen TV rips of the first 18 episodes. (They’re not perfect - episode 5 is particularly problematic, due to signal quality issues in the original recording - but it’s something.) I have not found even low res widescreen versions of episodes 19-22.

Any assistance is appreciated!

Help: looking for... Joey (2004 Friends spinoff), in HD

I’m looking for the second season of Joey in HD. I have the seasons on DVD, but they’re 4:3 and (obviously) not HD. If anyone is able to assist, your help is greatly appreciated! (If not HD, if anyone has good quality SD versions of these episodes in a widescreen format, that would also be appreciated.)

Help: looking for... 'Less Than Perfect' (ABC series from 2002) - lost episodes

Did you find an HD-version of 2&3 season?
It’s a hard-to find “holy grail” I think

HD would be amazing, but I’ll honestly take what I can get at this point. Soupdrinker0 has been very helpful.

As a side note about HD: I have purchased HD versions of seasons 1 & 4 from Amazon Prime video, but I don’t love having to use the Amazon app to watch them. For me, it’s frustrating not to have an iTunes version of those seasons, but the iTunes Store doesn’t sell that show, and I have no way of converting.

Help: looking for... 'Less Than Perfect' (ABC series from 2002) - lost episodes
Time

I am looking for assistance obtaining two lost episodes of the ABC series “Less Than Perfect.”

Seasons 1 & 4 are available for purchase on Amazon Prime video (albeit with altered music in the pilot, which I have corrected for my own collection), but finding all the episodes from seasons 2 & 3 is proving difficult. Many are available on YouTube in varying quality, but the two I need assistance obtaining are:
Season 3, Episode 5: “Knock, Knock, Who’s Dead”
Season 3, Episode 10: “Claude’s Romantic Hideaway”

There are a couple different uploads of “Knock, Knock, Who’s Dead” on YouTube, but they are missing the audio from the end of the episode (from about 16.5 minutes to the end).

There are also YouTube uploads that claim to be “Claude’s Romantic Hideaway,” but the episode that was actually uploaded is S03E11: “Claude’s 15 Minutes of Christmas.” The only version of “Claude’s Romantic Hideaway” I could find is a Russian-dubbed version (https://ok.ru/video/28940831354), but I am seeking the English audio.

Thanks to anyone who is able to assist!

Back to the Future "Johnny B. Goode" video w/deleted scenes (Released)

I was able to put together a finished video, and I think it looks pretty good. Please PM me if you’d like a link.

I did my best to color correct the music video footage and DVD footage to match, but if anyone is a more gifted color timer than I am, please feel free to take a crack at it. (I can send you the non-compressed files to work with.)

Help Wanted: 'My Name is Earl' - uncut episodes w/original music
Time

@SpacemanDoug - I actually believe I have some old hard drives with all the original NBC airings of the My Name Is Earl episodes. I can try to find those, if you haven’t been able to locate what you need already.

Do you happen to have a list of which episodes were altered? If so, that ought to help me figure out which drives I should go through.

Info: Back to the Future - without DNR & EE
Time

I haven’t read all 41 pages of this thread, but I thought I’d mention that I have all the edited-for-TV audio for all 3 films. I pulled it from my VHS recordings of the movies as they aired on network television back in the '80s and '90s. I also have DVR’d the movies on TV recently, which use some of the same edits, but not completely the same. If anyone wants this, please feel free to reach out.

Aside from the “lost” footage, someone could drop in shots from the full frame DVD and restore a good chunk of it.

I would honestly be happy to do that, but I no longer have my BTTF DVDs, since I upgraded to 4K discs. Anyone able to rip just the first film from a FS DVD and share? I’ll do the work if someone can share the 4:3 resources. Thanks!
