STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time
I would like to join the Pay It Forward chain.

I was helping ADigitalMan with his own PIF chain. (His work is outstanding. I have made over 20 copies of his Wizard of OZ disc.) I have also seeded and plan to seed, many Star Wars related items. I have even brought free DVDs to various Sci-Fi conventions, the SW Celebrations, and all of the TRU Midnight Madness Events. (to give away to people I met in line). I have also done my best to spread DVDs given to me by the glorious Rikter Blksvn. (Miss you Pal.)

I truly support the fan film/fan edit community and would like to to anything I can to help.

If you think I'm worthy please send me a PM. I have multiple computers, my own business, and lots of free time.

Cheers and best of luck.

PS: Sorry to interupt your thread.

I'll give Episode One something...

Being a Star Wars fan before 1999 was great. Everything felt so organic and fan driven. I blew my wad on vintage toys. And I went to Kinko's and the local Public Library to read spoilers on the web every day. (No computer of my own.)

For me it all came apart when I read that Pepsi can stating that Anakin had built C3PO as a child. Ok, maybe I can swallow Anakin finding C3PO in the junkyard and re-activating him. That gives C3PO a little bit of mystery and yet a mystical connection to the characters. However having Anakin build C3PO made the whole universe feel small and contrived. To this day its one of the things I really can't stomach.

I'll give Episode One something...

I thought it looked nice. (Creatures, costumes, vehicles, settings) At least George works with a talented crew of artists.

I also enjoyed playing Episode One Podracer and Jedi Power Battles on the Sega Dreamcast. Neither were "AAA" material but both were fun in their own way.

The film has a decent cast. Ian McDiarmid is the star of the show for me. It's almost like he's directing himself. Hugh Quarshie also gives a good performance. As does the actor behind Sio Bibble. Its always nice to see Brian Blessed and Terrance Stamp get work. Although I'll admit their talents are mostly wasted in the film. (But still its Prince Vultan and General Zod in Star Wars!)

Being a fanboy I've encountered both Ray Park and Ahmed Best on several occasions. They're both great guys, especially Ahmed Best. It almost makes me sad that people hate Jar Jar so much. He's a funny, charming guy who deserves better material.

I really get a kick out of Ric Ollie's comic overacting. "Sheild Generators Been Hit!" "Power's Back!" Ralph Brown really drives those lines home.

The Episode One action figures are some of the most well made figures in the modern Star Wars toy line. I even liked the Commtech Chips. (take that haters!)

Say what you will about his acting ability, Jake Lloyd has a great screen name. I just had to throw that out there.

MagnoliaFan Edits: Ep I "Balance Of The Force", and Ep II "The Clone War" (Released)
Time
You know Spidernap made the best DVD covers for the Magnolia Fan edits. I'm hoping he does one for Episode 3 so that I can finally complete the trilogy. (maybe I'll try to send him a telepathic message, lawl)

I even put my DVDs in white cases. First because they matched color tone of the SpiderNap DVD covers, and second because it separates the Magnolia Fan edits from the rest of the Star Wars films. I wanted something that really stood out and said "these are not the regular prequel movies!" And it appears to have worked. People always notice them on my shelves. As a result I've made dozens of copies of both films.

God Speed Magnolia Fan. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us.

(This is a message to Spidernap....S.O.S....dvd cover needed badly....)

Potter eclipses Star Wars and Bond
Time
I greatly respect J.K. Rowling for giving kids around the World something to read. However I hate Harry Potter. I just can't stand it. The books are ok, just not my cup of tea. And like I said before, J.K. is a great writer. But those movies are god awful. I'm talking episode one bad. They literally make me cringe. (I'm sorry Potter fans. I hope I haven't offended you. Just write off my comments if I have.)

2007 DVD repackage
Time
Honestly I think Lucasfilm is foolish for not having a budget priced DVD six pack in stores right now.

Forget about the eventual box set we've all been promised. I'm only talking about a simple repackaging of the films we've already been given. Possibly sans extras. All the movies, one through six, all in one place. Consumers like convenience. And it would take almost zero effort to get something like this off the ground.

It could also be huge with the Wal-Mart crowd.
