To Folks in the European Union
Time
I like the fact that if the US continues at such a high rate of consumption of oil, and if China gets up to speed and matches us any time soon, in less than twenty years we will have depleted all of our sources of oil. So, now seems to be the time to start investigating alternative sources of power.

And war is not a viable option...why go to war for something that there is so little of? And the War In Iraq has nothing to do with oil...just look at the export charts, Iraq has very little.

Oil will be the end of us all.

Andromeda finale
Time
And if you did see it and hated it, or have hated the last two and a half years of Andromeda, on both his official site and on the forums on SCI-FI.com, Robert Hewitt Wolfe has posted his original vision for the show and how it was all going to end. And it's much, much more interesting than what aired.

And how cool is it that RHW joins the sci-fi.com forums and answers questions???

Ideas: I've been gone for some time now...
Time
Originally the script had Palpatine admitting to "creating" Anakin via the MidiChlorians...but I like the mystery of it all better. And the Midi's seem to fit in well with the Force after ROTS...Yoda said the Force is a field, surrounding and binding; Palp says that Plaguiesusus could use the Force to "influence" the Midi's. Seems to make more sense now. The Midi's is the thing that gives ppl a connection to the Force.

Things you DID NOT like about Episode III
Time
Something else I've noticed, not just with me but with everyone...this movie is NOT repeat watchable. Seriously...after the second time through, there is really no motivation to go see it again in theatres. I mean, it's got great action, a good storyline...but I'm not watching the movie for clues as to how the next one will be, or how it all links up with the OT. It just feels...done and over. "We got bored" as my mom said during the second viewing.

I wouldn't say the Star Wars films should be over...just stay away from anything already established. A Mace Windu movie, or perhaps a Mandalorian movie would be good. Less Jedi would make it a far different feel.

Andromeda finale

So did any of you catch it, and what did you think? Honestly, I've only seen a handful of episodes of seasons 4 and 5, but mainly the significant ones like Tyre's "death". The finale was cool and all, but it really didn't have an impact. I'm guessing the dvds will make up for that.

Sucks though that all of my favorite shows that I watch weekly have either been cancelled or have ended. Angel, Enterprise, Andromeda...what's next, Smallville, 24, and Alias???

You know...it might have been even smarter to just show the birth of Luke...not show Leia's birth, although it happens with a minute. That way, when future generations watch these movies in order, it would STILL be a shock to find out that Luke and Leia are twins. But I really, really have no clue how you could film that or script that. It could become one of those classic Legend of Zelda moments- "But Link, Zelda is your....!"

Video Games - a general discussion thread
Time
I'm curious as to why you think Snake Eater was the best game of 2004. It can't be because of graphics...Ninja Gaiden blows it out of the water. It can't be because of story...nothing tops Prince of Persia. It can't be because of playability...San Andreas never ends. So...what makes it the best game of the year?

Honestly, I'm just trying to understand why anyone likes those games at all. I played the second one, and it was one of the worse games I've ever played. I just didn't "get it."
