Heh. Well done brick texture, but your first original version of Deleted Magic was probably stronger layout-wise. You're right that it lacks any color, I'd like to see a completely different concept using color photos and things if that's the goal as I don't know how this one, which is based around black and white, could easily be made more colorful. Hm.

Hi-res versions?

No problemeno! ...with this new ESB cover, I guess the others are obsolete? There are the previous links if anyone still wants them. Until we get a better scan of that one ESB poster, and a possible different direction for the Deleted Magic... here we go....

The brushed metal look looks great for ESB. I've never liked that particular poster, but if it's gonna be used on a Classic Edition cover this would be the way to do it. =)

I'd love to steal your Photoshop files to try different posters on that backdrop. Evil thoughts come into my mind ....

The Deleted Magic one is very nice and classy in your minimalist "Fight Club" kind of style ... "it's so Coov!" I'm glad to see Jenny and Camie on the front, they deserve it. Definitely a unique approach, and evocative of the Lost Cut. Would love to see more Deleted Magic covers from you if you ever have time. =)

Thanks for all of the support guys! There seems to be something missing from the Deleted Magic one. The front looks a little bare to me... I will do a little more tweaking.... especially to make it more in line with the other 2. Image choices where pretty slim... high res ones at least.
I can get you the photoshop files for all of them... I can either mail ya a CD, or if you have FTP access that would be ideal. Let me know what posters you would like me to try. I would have loved to used that one poster that you wanted me to use... but the quality of that, and the most recent link, are really still no where near the quality I would hope to have on these covers. Thanks again dudes'sz!

HERE is the fixed wood one.

As far as the text and font for the others... that is why I rarely use anything for the backs. LOL! There is usually too much or too little to say and you end up having to revolve the art around the text. There is so much text involved that squeezing if photos etc would make it look even worse. That is where I chose the serif as to let the text draw you in, rather than a dull font to not take away from any images that may be used. I may have to trim down the description a bit, but being that I didn't write it makes me not want to take away from your description of your own work. I am a big fan of keeping it simple... but these are your covers more than they are mine. They display your work more than showcase my own. Let me know if you want less text and pictures, or just a non serif font to replace what I have already.... I hope I am not being difficult! I just want to make sure that I give you exactly what you are wanting. These disks and your work is well worth it!!

That is cool... I will need something nice and High Res though... I will do a little searching if time permits. I will post the red Vader and others a bit later in the week, hopefully. My fun cover time is a direct result of being slow here at work. Now I have some projects that will be taking all of my time for now. I hate to leave you guys hanging.... I'd hate to clog up grisians upload section with a bunch of half hearted covers not quite completed. Sorry dudes... work calls! High Res covers are coming... just not as soon as i would have hoped. Peace!

Thanks for all of the support, guys! Now the questions'zz's is....

Do I drop the back "classic edition" logos down a bit to leave all of that beautiful black space, or leave it as is and put some specs on it?
Second... I'd like to print out some specs for the "wood" one, take a digital picture of it on a crinkly piece of paper and place it on the wood back. That would be pretty sweet looking, IMO... I did have an idea of just overlaying some classic trading cards in that blank wood space.... or should I leave it blank?

Hey Coov, excellent work. One change - please remove the trapezoidal "Star Wars" logo from the bottom of the front of the "Circus" cover. It interferes with the design terribly, and is redundant. "Classic Edition" might even work better in the blue space above Vader, as the image is a bit large and it interferes with the speeder ... but I think that without the trapezoidal "Star Wars" it will work.

Yeah, I was thinking that as well. Sometimes the sake of unity needs to be broken.

(Actually, you may or may not want to remove the trapezoidal "Star Wars" from the bottom of the back cover of both the "Circus" and the "Style A" type covers, as it now reads Star Wars Star Wars Classic Edition, which is a bit redundant. Although it's in line with Empire and looks good.)

That really stood out for me with the circus poster. It says "Star Wars" 5 times!!! LOL! It does not seem so bad on the type A poster, but with adding some specs and disk info I can just delete the bottom logo, span the "classic edition" text under the larger logo... or delete the larger logo all together and just replace the "trapezoidal" logo with an ESB logo like you want. Just depends on what looks better.

Your design works much better with the "Style A" type ANH poster, which is sad as the "Circus" poster is the intended one for Classic Edition. Ah well.

The circus one will look better without the front bottom logos... in fact, I may take the poster "Star Wars" text at the top and vector it out and give it that same unifying metallic look. Even if it does not look good, it sounds like fun. I found a pretty cool poster that may work well as an alternate to ESB. It has a sort of has that circus feel.... let me know what ya think about using THIS??? I'd have to change the metallic colors to match though. Just a thought.

If you have some specs and info you want me to add to these, let me know. Especially if you have a logo you would like me to add... or even create one for you....

Anything I can do to help. I have your first Classic DVD and your Deleted Magic and they are amazing! Definitely two of the best DVDs that I own!!! I look forward to checking out your classic ESB!!!

Sometimes do you feel like you should give up on the cause?

I love how things have turned out with Lucas' stance. It gives a sense of freedom to the talented bunch in here who do a better job than Lucas ever would if he ever did release the OOT. The nostalgia that most of us cling to in these films give a great sense of unity in wanting to preserve it. That excitement we used to get as a child in watching these classics is relived over and over with every great new attempt in preserving these films. So much of what the true fans of these classic films do gives us much more satisfaction than Lucas is able to give at this point. I say Lucas can be as stubborn as he wants... so much more care and attention is paid to by the fans, and the fans alone. I am OK with that.

Beautiful, Coov, minimal and beautiful. I highly approve. Bring on the download.

If people really want more information on the cover than that, I suppose they could add a little something in small print in the black space - but that'd be a shame, the black space looks nice. =)

Great cover.

Love to see it for the first one, with poster D on there.

Thanks, guys!

As requested.... I went ahead and did one with the poster I had planned to use as well. Choices are good...

I am sorry to say that the Titans are just awful. They will be lucky to do as well as they did last year, and they were awful then too. *shrugs* There is always next year.
