Disney Acquires LucasFilm for $4.05 billion, Episode 7 in 2015, 8 and 9 to Follow, New Film Every 2-3 Years
Time

and all the expand universe stuff is not interesting at all, to see in films..seriously if there's some disney's good films from franchise (Avangers for exeeeeeeemple) they are all forgettable..and i'm pretty sur that the episodes 1,2,3 will be masterpieces compared to every new SW disney movie to come.

no more fox fanfare, no more lucafilm logo, no more darkness, more ewoks, more jar jar ear Mickey, and more princess leia SWHS songs...

lightning my lightsaber, cut my head off !!!! oh shitt i'm still waking

Btw : from what Simon pegg's movie is that ?

Seriously?  There's no way anybody could ever make a SW film as bad as the prequels.  Hell, Bruckheimer and Bay could make Ep 7 starring Shia Labeouf as Han Solo and it would look like The Godfather next to the PT.   And of course the lucasfilm logo will still be there.  Why wouldn't it?

Star Wars movie prints WOULD benefit from this...can you hear me Mr. Lucas...
Time

IMO, the Raiders BD criticisms have all been over-blown, and from what I understand the new warm tone is much more accurate than the last dvd set.

Robert Harris posted on a message board recently after seeing it for the first time that he was "thrilled by the quality -- both visually and aurally."  He described the transfer as a "beautifully rendered digital capture, with beautiful grain."

If we had an OT release as high quality as Raiders, we would all be celebrating.

Lucas' Inspirations for Star Wars
Time

I imagine the two mechanical men of Oz (Tic Toc and the Tin Woodsman) were also an inspiration as well as Tahei and Matashichi from The Hidden Fortress for the droids but I may be wrong...

Yes, GL was inspired by Hidden Fortress to tell the story from the point of view of two seemingly insignificant characters.  This is also where he picked up the frame wipe transition technique.

Lucasfilm ltd. should see your Despecialized Edition V2.1 and see how easy it is to do this with a "Professional Computer,"because if people with a At Home Computer can do this, why can't Lucasfilm? It's sad :(

Thanks again Harmy and others.

If Lucasfilm WANTED to restore the originals, they would.  They have all the tools and resources to do so.  The sad part is that Lucas is content to see these historic movies in their original form simply fade away from existence.

And I would be surprised if Lucasfilm isn't well aware of this site and the type of restoration efforts that exist here.

Great work, Harmy!

one question though...  How come the V2.0 shot here looks so different from this shot that Mike posted?

Harmy, if you get a chance, could you ask Mike about this scene, and why it is so much brighter on your reference images than other releases.

I know you're probably sick of all the color timing discussions and criticisms, but I was just curious about this scene.

Thanks.

What I was however planning to do was make a little documentary for the BD, explaining what the DeEd is and maybe upload that to YouTube when it's done. It would explain the most important parts of the OOT issue and how the general public is being deceived and misled into either not even knowing there was any earlier version of it or at least thinking the original versions had cardboard cut out spaceships and stuff and how the DeEd can be used to educate people about this issue ;-) Covering my ass a little there but at the same time I believe that it is true.

I'm not sure it would be a good idea to put that on youtube. It might be seen as essentially a commercial for DeEd 2.0, and LFL does not take kindly to people "promoting" their unauthorized works.

But just to be clear, the documentary itself sounds awesome, and I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Yeah I pretty much agree with this.  I don't know how much Lucasfilm is aware of these projects but it seems like it would be better to keep them under the radar.
