Should show them in cockpit, then cut to Falcon flying away.
I think the cockpit needs different lighting/filter maybe something to match Tatooine tone.
Is there any way of explaining that Palpatine is a clone? Movie on first viewing and without JJ’s later given context suggests he just survived all this time.
That one piece of cut Lando dialogue feels very wasted.

Yeah just lower the opacity on that layer.
The lack of Prequel connections bothers me the most with this trilogy. Someone asked JJ Abram’s why there wasn’t many and all he said was that Rey deflecting force lightning was a prequels reference, so stupid if you ask me. Deflecting force lightning is just common Star Wars knowledge.
Also the cut to remove Babu Frikk wasn’t very smooth
Just watched the V3 workprint I think that R2&3PO theme should be turned up just a little atleast at the start. definately should be quiet as possible at end of it.

Only pitched this to Hal so far, but wanted to see what anyone else thought. I think it would be interesting if we found a way show that ALL of C-3PO’s memory got restored - Being the prequels, wasn’t sure at first how it could be done, but was thinking maybe we could show internal programming of his removed memories being uploaded.
I think it should be something super brief, keeping it as subtle as possible to keep it far from a detour.

Maybe there is another way of doing it, was also thinking the faction logo in top left corner could maybe transition/shift between eras being Sith, Republic, jedi, Empire etc to show passage of time.
Honestly I think we should keep the stormtroopers line.
Every movie has “awkward Star Wars moments” and this one is no less an offender than the iron from TLJ or the Ugnauts playing keep away in ESB.
TPM had “are you an angel”
ATOC was pretty much the whole movie
ROTS had “your shorter than I expected”
RO had weird tentacle monster
Solo had the what are you saying exchange in the maelstrom
ANH had “pick up your visual scanning”
ROTJ had Jedi Rocks
TFA had dramatic “wrong fuses”

Was just finding a dumb way to entail more mention of Snoke since some people didn’t like that he was completely forgotten by First Order, I’m sure someone will think of something for them to say.
I think we could come up with a interesting dialogue change for the two stormtroopers commenting on the Knights Of Ren, maybe something in relation to changes or messages we wanna get across in the edit.

Stormtrooper 2: “We don’t need help from those cultists”
Stormtrooper 1: “Weren’t those Snoke’s guards?”

I think I have found the best way to put together the celebration scene, this is just a concept. I kept Jakku while also moving Coruscant to the end feels more fitting to be the last look at victory, I extended the scene slightly using the original sound track.

Adding Coruscant at end like this adds a bit more closure in my opinion.
Would be great to somehow extend Ben Solo’s death scene and it’s aftermath.
Another scene that could be extended is the Luke and Leia training scene. There are usable shots from the BTS documentary that could be used. The problem is the camera being visible, I think Snooker had the idea of masking it with a training droid?

Interesting idea but something about that edit feels a little off, however I do think it could be interesting if we got a couple more visions/flashbacks into the movie but something like that is a pipe dream at this point.
Just realised Naboo shot during the night were currently planning on using is just hyper realistic concept art so we may not be able to use it as footage.

Two shots from poppasketti for the squeaky wheel scene
Luke’s ghost with haircut and less blue, from jonh, as well as Ben Solo’s ghost for the end of the movie
Once axlanian and krausfadr’s Knights of Ren voiceover is finished, I’ll consider what of it to use
Add Naboo to end celebration montage as recently described (no one has been assigned this task)
Need Coruscant added to the exterior and/or window of the briefing scene on Ren’s destroyer (no one has been assigned this task)
I will try the OST for an alternate musical accompaniment to the added establishing shot of Ach-To
As you can see, there aren’t too terribly many things that remain, at least for the main version. Rey Nobody can then wait until things are fully ready for that as well.

I was thinking Coruscant should have been last, honestly wouldn’t care if we got rid of Jakku to make room for something else like Corellia.
