Interestingly enough, right after I posted that I came across a copy without the text just how I wanted. But thanks anyway!
I desperately need a no-logo/no-text version of this poster:
I need one that has the logo off of Leia, not just airbushed out. I know it exists, I used to have it.
If anyone could help me out, that would be absolutely fantastic.
I put this request out a couple years ago, but I'd like to ask again because I'm revisiting the concept of these covers:
Does anyone have/could someone make scans of the old yellow-logo VHS tape boxes? I need the backs of them most of all, but the spines would be appreciated as well. I don't need the fronts so much, but it'd be nice to have them as well.
I'm talking about these covers specifically:
Also if anyone has that ROTJ poster without the logo covering up Leia on the bottom, that would also be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can get me scans of the backs of these!
Yeah - there's "Islanded in a Stream of Stars" on Friday, then the 3-hour finale "Daybreak" split over one 1-hour episode and one 2-hour episode. Then the "Caprica" pilot comes out on DVD on April 21st, then "The Plan" TV-movie sometime after that (which apparently shows the miniseries from the Cylon point of view). Then "Caprica" in 2010, but no more BSG.
And my guess as to Starbuck: Throughout the episode, she was projecting an image of her father subconsciously. Well, her father was Daniel, the #7 model whose line was destroyed by Cavil. Either he was the original model that Ellen hid from Cavil, or he was just another model who disappeared from Starbuck's life when Cavil destroyed the model. Hence, Starbuck is a Cylon/Human hybrid.
This begins to explain certain things, but doesn't entirely explain others (like how she can apparently resurrect, which I didn't know was possible for hybrids like Hera and, apparently, Starbuck).
I say yes, in both instances (the Shaw ghost WHICH SHOULD BE RESTORED and Vader's unmasking).
Oh, and I'm also against adding Qui-Gon or any other PT Jedi to the ROTJ ghosts. Just my two cents on that.
Well, in one ending, you kill the Emperor and Vader and become the leader of the Empire if I'm not mistaken. So I don't think that one's canon.
I have a feeling Ady will release the HD version as an AVCHD similar to his restored SE HD releases (dual-layer DVD that works on Blu-Ray players and PS3's) in addition to the higher-bitrate MKV.
I could be wrong, though.
Check your PMs.
Now that's a good idea.
I haven't noticed many changes other than the tabbed windows. Then again, I only use CS4 in my Motion Graphics class, so I've hardly had time to go through it in detail.

As for inverted channels, there are two issues:
one- the anthology has a few tracks where the channels are completely flipped (right for left, left for right)
The SE however has JUST the horn channels flipped. This is an irreconcilable error unfortuantely. I have a cue breakdown that shows which ones are right and wrong. It's every track that was remixed for the SE and that the origianl Thornton mixes didn't exist...
It's a lot of the tracks sadly. The best ones too... main title, alt probe droid, battle in the snow, the asteroid field if I recall right, as well as hyperspace as a lot of the yoda music and Imperial March.
Which Anthology tracks have the channels flipped? I just got a hold of a copy of the Anthology, and I'd like to fix them myself, but don't know enough about music to be able to tell which ones are messed up without the potential for screwing it up.
Since this thread has been a little dead lately, I figured I'd give a little update to let folks know this project is most definitely not dead - I'm about 20 pages into the first draft of the Episode I script based on Blackhawk's outline.
I am, however, running into a bit of a snag: I'm terrible at coming up with names that don't sound incredibly stupid.
If anyone has suggestions for names, please throw them out there! I need:
- King Organa's aides (1 main one, about 3 or 4 smaller ones that don't really *need* names but it'd be kinda nice)
- "NotPadme"
- General Mandalorian names, including the leader
- Any other names you guys can think of
I'm currently using the EU name for the Alderaan capital, "Aldera," unless anyone thinks of something better.
When I said "Back on topic, sorry for the distraction," that meant I wasn't trying to start a discussion on this, it was just a comment since I was watching it at the time. Regardless, I still don't understand why people liked that movie.
Now to make an "on topic" post so we can move beyond this:
- I *really* like the blue ion cannon blast. It's much, much more effective.
- Another "good call" vote on noticing the buildings in the Cloud City matte.
- I prefer the spinning starfield, but don't care either way
- In regards to the side lasers thing for the AT-ATs which was discussed a little bit ago - my suggestion is to have everything be fired from those side turrets, unless they need extra firepower (i.e. when they blow up the shield generator, or when shooting at heavier turrets on the ground). And while I don't think the lasers should be a different color, they should be thinner when coming from the side turrets than the ones that come from the larger ones.
EU stands for "expanded universe," which means expanded from the movies. So, by definition, anything that isn't Episode I, II, III, IV, V, or VI is part of the expanded universe, regardless of whether it's canon or not. That's all I meant.
Canon is relative - whatever you want to be canon is canon to you. For me, it's the Star Wars, Empire and Jedi in their theatrical form, and the Thrawn trilogy, and nothing else. For others, it means different things.
Off topic, I was just watching Episode III since I hadn't watched it since opening day at midnight. I forgot what a steaming pile of shit it is. Every aspect of it feels like it was made by someone who hadn't even gone to film school, much less someone who's made several movies in his life. Incredibly choppy editing, no flow between scenes, horrid dialogue, childish attempts at humor ... what the hell happened from 1977 to 2005?
Rant over. Back on topic. Sorry for the distraction.

Yes, but the Clone Wars is EU territory just like the previous series. Both are done with Lucas' vision and direction and are do exactly the same thing. And if I may say add, the spinning star field is also a part of Lucas' vision and direction as well.

Way off topic, and not a big deal, but The old Clone Wars miniseries was EU, where George basicly just let it happen. No involvement. The new one, he is actually writing a lot of the material, and if an episode is written by someone else, it is written by them with a basic outline for the episode by George and Dave Filoni. George edits almost every episode, and the entire main story arc and direction is completely George. This is the story that George himself wanted to tell, that's why he's doing it. The live action series coming out that takes place between ep3 and 4 is also supposed to be his story, and not considered EU. I look at it almost like Empire, he wrote the general story, and someone else directed it and filled in the blanks. Take it for what it's worth. Peace....
It really depends on what you consider to be canon. And if we're talking EU here, then the six movies are canon and everything else (any TV media or the Clone Wars movie included) is considered EU by definition. Whether you consider all EU to be canon, or just some of it, or, for Ady's purposes, none of it at all, it's still EU.
And Ady has said he doesn't give two shits about anything EU for his "Revisited" edits, which is more than fine by me.
The interior of the space slug with retractable teeth, and I think there's at least one other one that I forgot.

I don't appreciate you saying I was "had big time" when you don't know me or the story behind that. It makes me look like an idiot and a jackass. Don't do it again.
And if you have limited 'net access, how the hell could you burn the DVDs yourself if someone sent you a blank disc? That makes no sense! If you want a copy, but can't dowload it, how could you burn a copy onto a blank disc someone sent you? Why would you even need someone to send a blank disc to you in the first place? Buy one!
Besides, I've never seen a PIF request from you anywhere. Where did you post them?
First of all - chill dude, ok that was nice of you to print covers, I never said people asked you to but what I was saying was I wouldn't and I wouldn't expect anyone else too either.
Second - I'm sorry I offened you but I don't appreciate you having ago at me either because you misunderstood my post, see below. Just by that comment you do make yourself look like an idiot and a jackass. If you've come on here just to have ago at me then I'd ask you to please leave.
Third - When I said "A blank data disc would be fine and I'd burn the DVD myself" I ment a DVD with the film as data with no label or case or cover.
Fourth - I never posted about starting a PIF only asked people through PMs, that's why you never saw anything.
I apologize for coming across as an asshole. That happens occasionally online - when I'm talking to someone in person I don't do that, but online it's a different story for some reason. I always end up looking like a jackass instead of making my points diplomatically. I'll try not to do that from now on.
I didn't print the covers because people asked me to, I did it to be nice and to give the fan edits I sent out a bit more legitimacy. The only reason I got complaints was because I promised in my forum post that told people to PM me about PIF's that I would send out copies with covers.

I've done PIF chains. Here's the problems I encountered with them:
1) People love to get discs, but getting them to PIF themselves is an entirely different thing.
2) People request things, then get mad when others simply don't have them to PIF.
3) People request something you have, then get mad when they don't get it exactly the way they'd wanted it (for example, my PIF copies of SW:Revisited included a printed cover, but no disc label - I got complaints about the lack of a disc label and the fact that the cover was printed on standard inkjet paper. Then I ran out of cases to put the covers in, and being a poor college student wasn't able to get more, and got complaints about the discs being without labels in little CD envelopes.)*
4) Since you can't keep doing this forever, you count on others to PIF as well, but when you turn down more offers, no one else takes your place and people get mad at you again (kinda goes with #2).
*Note that there weren't as many complaints as that implies. Most people were nice about everything.
So would that be another re-do of the original series, or a continuation?
Regardless, having seen four episodes or so of the original show ... I don't really care. Maybe if I'd seen it before the '03 miniseries aired, I would've actually enjoyed it, but I didn't, so I didn't.
Maybe they'll be nice and hold it for you for a day or two if you ask them? Hell, they might've even heard of you. I'm sure if they were aware of that and what you're using this camera for, they'd bend over backwards so you could get it.
I'd recommend downloading the DVD-9. It's ready-to-go DVD files, you just burn to disc and you're set.
Problems with that: It's an 8-gig file (ballpark), and if you don't have a dual-layer burner and dual-layer media it's pointless.
If that's the case, get the DVD-5, which is around 4 gigs and is a single-layer DVD, but again, all the files are ready to go.
Converting from a low-bitrate (compared to the DVD-5/DVD-9) AVI to DVD will yeild substantially lower quality than downloading either of the two DVD versions.
I recently finished editing a music video for Ben Joseph, a friend of mine here at school, and I figured I'd post it here to try and promote his music - he's quite good IMO (and I'm not just saying that because I know him). You can find his stuff on iTunes and CDBaby.com.
Enjoy:

And to the mods, if this is against forum rules or anything, let me know. I wasn't sure if it was or not.
A note on flipped shots from a film editor's perspective:
99.9% of the time, when you see a flipped shot, it's to create an eyeline match when the actor was looking the wrong way, or when a shot doesn't exist where the actor is looking the direction they needed to be looking, so the frame is flipped. This is far more common than most people realize, and flipped shots usually go by very quickly. The theory is that it's easier to notice someone looking in the wrong direction than to notice a flipped shot (which is, usually, true).
That does indeed look much, much better Ady.
My only suggestion would be, if at all possible, to improve the lighting on the actors in the shot(s) in question. In the one at the top of the page, for instance, the lighting on Lando is indicative of the indoors setting in the OTV. The SE change, however, should have more light coming from outside than there was inside - that is to say, his side closest to the railing/outdoors should be lit more than his other side, instead of it being uniform (and rather dark).
I am aware of the limitations of digital manipulation, however - changing the lighting in a convincing way may not be possible, and if that's the case I have no problem leaving it the way it is. It already looks lightyears better than ILM's rushed job.
