Nah, not confusing at all, that makes perfect sense. Glad you figured it out!

All I am saying is just don't rush to judgement just yet wait until the blu-rays are released.
I know. Because you've already said the same thing about 50 times.
STOP SAYING THAT. WE KNOW.
What? Why? Because he's adding to the discussion? How horrible of him.

Revenge of the Shit
The all-anal final chapter?
Oh, shit. I definitely need to add:
Apocalypse Now (theatrical cut)
Blue Velvet
Taxi Driver
and, because Taxi Driver got me thinking about Scorsese:
Raging Bull
After Hours
Goodfellas
The Departed
(I also kinda like Bringing Out the Dead, but it's not one of my favorites by a long stretch. And Shutter Island was great, too.)
I still need to see Mean Streets, Casino, Cape Fear, and Gangs of New York.
What do I like about the prequels?
About 35-45% of Episode I.
That's pretty much it.
Yeah, it's most likely because it was there before. It clearly takes a while for them to do anything once you tell them the malicious stuff is gone, so I guess it follows that it takes a while for them to put up the warning once they find that the malicious stuff is present.
I remember that happening to TheDigitalBits. Do you remember how long the warnings lasted after they told Google about it? At least a couple days IIRC...
This is all true, but it I think that movies scanned at higher than 1080p (2K-4K) resolution tend to look better when downscaled to 1080p than those scanned at 1080p to begin with.
Anchorhead:
I recommend watching Aliens once. The theatrical cut. Part of why it's good is that it doesn't try to be like Alien - it is its own movie. If you like it, watch the extended cut, too, because there are good things added.
Definitely skip the other sequels, though.
I agree with you about Back to the Future. The sequels are unnecessary, and not nearly as good as the first. I think it's the whole "chicken" thing that really turns me off of Part II and Part III.
There's nothing redeeming about any of the Jaws sequels, and I haven't watched them in about ten years.
And Conquest was the only Apes sequel I enjoyed.
Yes, it does. (Using Firefox, not Chrome.)
Yeah, I don't think DJ was planning on doing any color correction beyond what's in G-Force's script (if there even is any in his script).
They were shot 1920x1080, but with the top and bottom masked off to conform to the 2.39:1 aspect ratio that every Star Wars film before had used. So 1920x800 is the max resolution (it's also the resolution any 2.39:1 film released on Blu-Ray uses).
Harmy: 65mm and 70mm are the same thing (65mm is the film negative, release prints are 70mm).
And the 2004 SEs were scanned and had the new effects done at 1080p, so they're locked there for now.
Phantom Menace I think was a 2K DI, so the max resolution for that is 2K.
Clones and Sith, as has been mentioned, were shot at 1080p, so that's their max resolution (technically 1920x800, not full 1080p, since they're 2.39:1 films).
The OUT, being shot and conformed on 35mm film, could go up to 4K, but any higher is probably unnecessary.
The 1997 SE was, like TPM, a 2K DI (I think), so 2K is probably the max for the '97 SEs.
Revisited Purist takes out the prequel music during Obi-Wan and Vader's duel, restores Ben's hut scene to its original cut, restores "There'll be no escape for the Princess this time," and I think restores the original TIE fighter reveal in the battle of Yavin.
Other than that, it's the same as the regular "Revisited."
Yes, that's what I normally watch.
Alright, well I watched all of TPM (Ady's theatrical reconstruction) last night. Pretty much all my complaints still stand.
However, this time I noticed that Liam Neeson seems to be thinking "WTF is this bullshit" during pretty much every scene, like he just knew how bad the film was going to turn out.
AOTC is next, whenever I can muster up the desire to watch that shitfest of a movie ...
Those might not be too terribly hard to recreate at higher res in Photoshop or Illustrator...
That's good news! What was the issue? How'd you fix it?
The GKAR definitely looks better, in my opinion.
I no longer have a working download link to it, but I'm sure there are some members on here who do.
The version currently circulating is the excellent Belbucus restoration, which is synchronized to the 2006 GOUT DVD.

Here's a link to a site that goes into all the differences between the 1977 stereo and mono mixes.
My roommate has two cats, and she's never home, so I have two cats. That I'm slightly allergic to.
In no particular order - most of this is just me reading what's on my movie hard drive:

Let the Right One In
Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Director's or Theatrical cut; just not the SE)

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (1&2 Extended, 3 Theatrical)
Almost Famous (Untitled Director's Cut)
Back to the Future (the first one)
Alien (theatrical cut)
Aliens (theatrical cut, but ONLY because the scenes on LV-426 before the Marines land there shouldn't have been restored in the SE)

Pan's Labyrinth
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Kingdom of Heaven (Director's Cut)
The Fountain
Moon
The Fugitive
The Hunt for Red October
