What about facebook?

Facebook has contacted Adywan and asked him to prove his real name is "Adywan Revisited" or they will shut down his page.

I get the feeling that they have been nudged by someone or something to do this and it sucks.

I was under the impression that Facebook revoked it's "real name policy" last year.

Shouldn't this be irrelevant since the page is set up as a page (intended for groups, companies, and other organizations) and not as a profile (intended for individuals)? I mean, if that's not the case, then did the admins of the official Star Wars page also have to prove the existence of someone whose name is legally Star Wars among their ranks?

I already discussed this with justinvalorman via PM but I thought I'd share those ideas here also.

This is a rough cut of my idea to make Anakin work out how to destroy the Command Ship.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_ueuSW0xXbyQXljUFB4UzFEOFE/view?usp=sharing

If it appeared unclear in the clip, the idea was to have Anakin fly through the West Hanger, straight through the half doughnut ship and out the East Hanger.

This is awesome. Even in rough cut form, this is SOOOOOOOO much better. Well done.

From Ady on Facebook:

MAY THE 4th BE WITH YOU.......

As promised, here is the clip of Dagobah with the new miniature replacing the old matte painting, and the [K]Nobby White Spider.

Time is also running out to get your hands on one of the tree models used in this clip. There are not many left so, if you are thinking of grabbing one, now would be the time to do it

As usual, the audio in this clip is NOT the finished audio, but just a temporary guide track

EDIT: It seems facebook has once again compressed the hell out of the video. If you want to see this clip in better quality, you can download the original file here: ( It's just over 200mb)

Plus, after all the years he (and his team) has dedicated to this project, why would he ever put out anything less than his final, ideal version? It would just lead to a mess--the near-finished cut would most likely spread around teh interwebz and probably get confused for the final cut for quite some time, perhaps indefinitely. After, once it's out there, it can't be taken back. It's better for him just to wait and put out one version.

 Looks great!

I don't think "great" quite does it justice. It looks FANTASTIC! I was actually a shocked when I saw it--I actually sat back in my chair and gasped--because I never thought the prequels could look so good. Well done!

It is not a flaw that some building in the far distance is the same behind both the Millenium Falcon and the Slave I.

Some buildings? Actually it's all of them, including the same clouds because they used the exact same matte for both platforms, so it is a flaw:

Obvious trolling is obvious. It didn't dignify a response.

I think you mean that it did not deserve to be dignified with a response. In that case, you're right.

Would anyone actually miss this scene with the people standing about in cloud city?

I would. I like that it shows the people he's speaking to - in this way, it opens up Bespin even more, and for me that was a positive attempt with the SE. With Ady's enhancements to those shots and all of the other backgrounds in cloud city, they have all become seamless together and very beautiful looking.

I would, too. Not all the SE changes are bad; this is one of the good ones. I like these little shots that remind the viewer that the Star Wars galaxy is inhabited by "regular people," too, not just the heroes and villains on which the film focuses. It's a reminder of what the rebels are fighting for. And, as .Mac says, it opens up Bespin and makes it more believable.

But something seems off about the waist area of that 3PO costume (though the rest of it looks excellent). Too long? Anyone else notice?

It's just the costume slipped down a bit by the looks of things. Here are some other photos of Simon in the costume, and you can see there is nothing wrong with the length of the waist area

plus the original 3p0 costumes waist altered length all the time throughout the films.

Yeah, I took a look at his Facebook page. I notice the problem in several shots, but there are also several that look fine. I'm guessing you're right that the costume must have slipped down or something.

And yeah, you're right--3PO's waist is inconsistent in the films, anyway. In fact, it always bothered me how dramatically different it looks in ROTJ. For some reason they made the wiring look sharp and jagged.

yeah but if R2 is in the prequels it should at least be more than coincidence he's in the prequels and happens to end up in Leia's hands. For example, since C-3PO is being made Padme's droid, it can easily be assumed, once Leia is revealed as Padme's daughter, that Leia inherited him after her mother died.

But since R2 is actually Padme's droid, as well (remember that he's introduced in the Naboo royal starship), the fact he ends up in Leia's possession makes just as much sense.

I had an idea today about re-authoring the DVD chapter titles and where possible use official canon titles that read better and are more inspiring.

5 Escape From The Wampa >>> The Wampa's Lair
8 Search Party >>> Snowspeeders Take Flight
12 Preparing For Battle >>> The Coming Storm
13 First Transport Away >>> The Ion Cannon
14 Battle In The Snow >>> Fire and Ice
17 Escape Aboard The Falcon >>> Escape From Echo Base
23 "Found Someone, You Have" >>> Luke's Nocturnal Visitor
24 Interrupted Kiss >>> Han Solo and the Princess
27 "This Is No Cave" >>> The Mynock Cave
28 Jedi Training >>> The Training of a Jedi Knight
29 Failure At The Cave >>> An Evil Place
31 There Is No Try >>> Yoda and the force
35 Meeting Lando >>> Lando's Palace
38 Imperial Surprise >>> Betrayal at Bespin
39 The Deal Gets Worse >>> Deal with the Dark Lord
41 Luke Enters The Trap >>> The Trap
42 Confronting The Dark Lord >>> Confronting The Dark Lord / Vader
43 Lando's Second Surprise >>> Lando's Dilemma
44 Lightsaber Duel >>> The Clash of the Lightsabres

The original is on the left an edited version on the right.

Good suggestions, Ronster. I think many of your changes are more appropriate than the originals. "Clash of the Lightsabres" is a little over-the-top, but I think the rest work well.

I don't think "The Clash of the Lightsabres" is over the top at all... Isn't that actually the title of the musical cue that plays during that scene?

During the scene where Han and co. are trying to escape from Vader, the part where Leia tells Han "Should I get out and push", C3P0 comes running in calling Han "Captain Turner, Captain Turner" has this been fixed?

There is nothing to fix. He is clearly saying "Captain Solo"

This is the part inside the Hoth rebel base, when Han is having difficulty starting the Falcon and Vader with his troops are approaching the ship (around minute 34-35 into the movie). Maybe I'm just hearing things, could anyone check it out and see if its just me?

It's definitely just you.

Sorry to hear about both the damage to your camera and your insurance company's refusal to cover it. What kind of damage did the camera sustain and what sort of position does it put you in with regard to ESB:R? Did you lose any existing footage when the camera was damaged?

Because that's not what Revisited is about. It's not looking to alter the flow of the OT or change episode numbers.

I never suggested altering the flow of the OT. What I suggested wouldn't require changing the OT at all besides changing the episode numbering.

I suggested doing away with the PT; providing PT content as a follow-up supplement to the OT. That is, an extra episode after ANH, TESB, and ROTJ.

Right. And again, that's not what "Revisited" is about. To be clear, nobody is saying it's a bad idea, but rather that it doesn't jive with the goals of this particular project.

Update from Ady on Facebook:

I would just like to thank everyone who has continually supported the Revisited projects, , but unfortunately the time has come for me to bow out and close everything down as i can't see this ever getting finished............

...............................................

yeh, right. Got ya......

But seriously, things will be getting back on track after Christmas and YOU WILL see ESB:R released this year. There isn't much left to do, just a
bit of filming and some FX work with the models/ miniature sets.

With the news that Disney had purchased Star Wars, panic set in at first. But hopefully Disney will continue to leave fan edits alone.

This year will also see ROTJ:R go into production. I'm looking to start the full planning stages around July/ August, but maybe sooner depending on how soon i can get ESB:R finished and out there. But i am also planning on working on ANH:R HD at the same time as i will be doing ROTJ:R, so you may get to see the HD version of ANH:R sooner than originally planned. This will give me good practice for when i get to the prequels because, as you may know, i will be doing all three simultaneously. Can it be done? Only time will tell.

Thanks again for your continued support.

- Adywan

From what I've read, it looks like Fox will be retaining the distribution rights to the existing Star Wars films--Disney will only have rights over the new films. It's also important to note that although Disney has indeed purchased Lucasfilm, it will not be absorbing and/or merging with it; rather (for the time being, at least) Lucasfilm will be operated as a subsidiary and will be headed by Kathleen Kennedy (which isn't quite so bad). Lucasfilm staffing will probably remain relatively unchanged.
