***The "Darth Editous" Episode IV DVD Info and Feedback Thread*** - a partially "de-specialed" DVD

Thanks for figuring that out guys. If missing links are to blame then I will feel slightly less frustrated.

Though my original intent was to get that edit and I am apparently no closer to doing so, hahaha. I think I'll shelve my ambitions to acquire the Purist version of Revisited for now!

Scrips?  Router list?  UI?

I've never heard of any of this with jdownloader.  Most people just feed it the links and off it goes.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

There's this whole thing with reconnecting that's just ridiculous. It did start fine when I opened the .DLC but then stopped. I can't make heads nor tales of it since then. It does seem to have stopped for good at 1GB and I'll be ****ed if I can adjust the settings for reconnecting properly without powers of concentration I don't possess.

I'm just having difficulty devoting time to mastering the suddenly complex art of downloading. Talk of scripts and all that nonsense  - it's not for me. I used all my energy figuring out shit like this back in the days when everything was necessarily complicated.

And again just the fact that my router is not listed is a very bad sign. The instructions for setting it up on fanedit.info did not reflect the UI I was looking at either. Fetching the routher IP address gets the wrong address, etc etc. It's just annoying.

Well, I've downloaded 1 GB of the film, in bizarre 100 MB increments over the last 24 hours. It does not reconnect properly but somehow it has happened. At this rate within five days I'll have the whole movie, but I don't know if I can bear to go through with it. It took me far less time to torrent Revisited which was nearly twice the size.

Would anyone be willing to supply me with a copy of this DVD? Or a link to a decent torrent (ie it's being seeded)?

(I tried to get it from fanedits.info but that jDownloader is the worst piece of shit thing I've seen in a long time. It doesn't even have my router - which I bought at frigging BEST BUY - on its router list.)

Thanks.

Help: looking for... This Is Not The ANH Edit You're Looking For - fewer changes
Time

Hello. My second post in these forums, potentially more annoying than the first, hahaha.

I downloaded and viewed most of Adywan’s Revisited edit. Once I got over my initial amazement at the work done and the effectiveness of that work, I decided that it was all a bit too much for me. I’m down with a lot of the changes, but there are some I feel were just too much, from the small (changing the sky on Tatooine) to the large (re-edits of the final battle).

The color correction alone makes it worthwhile, but I’m wondering if there isn’t something out there that tones down some of the SE changes (a la Adywan’s subtraction of Jabba; fixing the Solo/Greedo thing) without inserting drastic changes of its own.

I know there is the “purist” version but from what I can tell the more severe editing changes are still there at the end.

Fwiw, I like some of the more - shall we say - quantitative changes of the SE; extra X wings and whatnot. And I really liked the little animations Adywan did to the faces in the cantina scene (though I’m not sure if Greedo should blink, per se, not with those bug eyes!).

So if my question isn’t quite clear, I’m asking if there is a version out there that hews to the original/SE in terms of editing, with cleaned up/improved visuals. I think that about sums it up!

Burning Star Wars Revisited on a Mac
Time

Hi y'all, I hate to ask a question that's probably been gone over but my cursory search didn't turn anything up. Plus I'm hot to trot and kind of impatient. So, sorry bout that.

Anyway I downloaded Star Wars: Revisited hoping to burn a DVD of it. However it is a huge file and too big for a DVD (I knew it was large when I DL'd but figured there must be some trick to it).

This is the NTSC DVD 9 version. I'm not sure if it's meant to be burned to Blu Ray or what, but I can't do that with a Mac.

If there's no way of getting this at full quality onto a DVD - which it appears there's not - I'm curious if there's away to at least play through the entire film with VLC. I can open individual TS files but they're obviously in chunks; there isn't one with the full movie on it.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!
