Were those “negative comments” comparing you to Ivan Ortega by any chance?
Were those “negative comments” comparing you to Ivan Ortega by any chance?
What I’m about to say may sound absolutely stupid to you all, but this comes from what I heard since the film was still in post-production, so I could be in the wrong for writing this post, but we’ll see what happens.
According to test screening reports, mainly orchestrated by YouTube user Overlord DVD, there was originally a scene during the climax where Palpatine’s force lightning blew up the Millennium Falcon, taking the lives of Lando, Chewie, C-3PO and R2, and was described in short as “the saddest moment in the film”.
As of now, there exists no substantial or conclusive evidence of whether or not this scene exists, but I am sure that some of you have contemplated how the Falcon should be dealt with in the film. The other day, I saw an old post on this thread describing the deaths of Lando and Chewie in the Falcon’s destruction, summed up as such:
The legends are dead.
No doubt destroying the Falcon in such a manner would have been a huge risk for J.J. Abrams or Lucasfilm to undertake, and I’ll be honest, I actually thought they were going to go through with it when I saw the film in 4DX 3D. I guess my assumptions were proven wrong.
Nevertheless, the very idea really puts new meaning to the phrase, “Let the past die. Kill it if you have to.”
How many of you believe the film could have benefitted from ending with Rey as “the last Jedi”? A user on the Fanedit Forums said it himself:
The Jedi should die. This doesn’t mean there can’t be Force users, but the criticism of the dogma was valid.
Here’s the source https://youtu.be/orSF0EvYRD4 (18:19)
Ah. I guess that explains the dodgy audio quality.
I’ve watched a few of General Kenobi’s Vimeo clips just now, and I’m wondering where he got the “More than a clone… less than a man” line from. It sounds like a deleted line from the film’s promotional and advertising material.
Are there any TROS edits that have had a crack at leaving Rey dead at the end?
Which program did you use for the redesign?
Which deleted scenes in particular do you like the most?
This may seem a tad redundant, but how did you manage to rip the Disney+ quality in such high quality?
Okay, regarding the Shaak Ti death scene… HOW DID THEY MANAGE TO AVOID AN ‘R’ RATING WITH THAT SHOT???
Nice work on the scenes, JJ. I will admit that the lighting in the second clip is a bit dark to match with the rest of the film, so if you could remedy that in a future revision, that would be much appreciated.
Why wouldn’t you go through with an extended cut of this ambitious project?
I can see there’s no database for The Rise of Skywalker’s deleted scenes.
While my current project, Batman Forever Noir, is on hold until my new desktop is sorted out, I thought I’d take this moment to discuss an idea that popped into my head just now. Since Batman Forever is one of the most fascinating movies I’ve ever come across, wouldn’t it make sense to archive as much of the film’s promotional and advertising material as possible?
More importantly, have any of you thought of it before? I think it would be awesome to kickstart this special project. Basically, we’d gather most, if not all, of the film’s trailers, TV spots, commercials, music videos, and BTS documentaries into one set.
I don’t quite know how to describe such an ambitious project, so I’ll leave it up to you to decide what needs to be done.
Hey. Wow, it’s been a hot minute, hasn’t it? Add this to the list of projects I started but never finished. Well, do know this idea has never left my mind. I’ve been experimenting on and off with how to make certain ideas a reality. The main difficulty has been the wand replacement idea. I thought I could accomplish this in a much simpler fashion than turned out to be feasible. However, I’ve been learning a lot with 3D modeling and really honing my visual effects skills, and I think I’ve figured out a way to accomplish it.
While this project is far from completely dead, it’s really evolved from my original idea, and I think it’s best to approach it on a film by film basis, rather than trying to tackle all of them simultaneously. As such, this thread will be pushed to the side and, at some point, I will create new threads to follow the progress of my HP project and the new direction they’ve gone.
I look forward to hearing your plans for Philsopher’s Stone.
I look forward to checking out the new versions soon.
A darker Spider-Man 3? This, my friend, sounds like bona fide R-rated material!
I apologise in advance for bringing this thread back, but has anybody gotten wind of this as of late?
Well, we’ll see how it goes.
Is it me or does Palpatine look even scarier in a grey light? 😮
As for the Audacity thing, coincidentally, that’s what I plan on doing for my own fan edit, Batman Forever Noir.
Regarding your planned changes and the new opening crawl, I’ll admit they sound challenging, although not impossible. I’ll be looking forward to a sneak peek of this ambitious cut of yours very soon!
But there are no more X-Men movies after Dark Phoenix, lol.
New Mutants: I exist.
Are you in cinemas?
But there are no more X-Men movies after Dark Phoenix, lol.
I never thought you would use footage from Knowing to change the film’s ending.
Is this truly how the X-Men’s story ends?
Who here still wants Disney to #ResurrectThePhoenix?
So Hal, do you have a prepared cut list for this edit as of late?
