I see that OotP is complete. š
I see that OotP is complete. š
Has anyone thought of doing a faux workprint cut of TFA using the BD/DVD/3DBD/DMA deleted scenes and select trailer shots?
Hereās a quick comparison of the visual changes made to Parts 1 and 2
Password: lumosThe color and general effect of your brightness and contrast are awesome! š But in the final shot of your three examples in that video (from March 20) ā the shot with Ron and Hermione, Harry ā you can see (especially with the ground) that you are losing a good amount of detail due to brightness/contrast blow out. Maybe play with the settings on that one to see if you can both keep your overall look and more of the detail? (Or maybe youāve tweaked that already since that post? It is a few months old now.)
Thatās just a quick thought for kicks. Good stuff, CamSMurph, keep up the good work! š
Thank you for your kind feedback. Iām currently messing around with Adobe Premiere Pro and Iāve actually gotten a head start on developing an entirely new intro heavily inspired by these two videos:

Iāve already altered the colour grading since then, and I cannot wait for you to see it when the time comes!
You have some really exciting stuff here. I love the color correction and your take on Ron leaving.
I am curious to see what you are cutting out of your edit, since you are putting back some of the deleted scenes (many of which are crucial to the film).Molly vs. Bellatrix:

Is there a way to remove Bellatrix getting chopped to pieces? I never liked that choice, since it is never established that Avada Kedavra can do that to a person. Also, it kind of takes away Voldemortās āspecial way of dyingā.
Anyway, keep up the good work and I will definetely be looking forward to check out the final result!
I know AEmovieguy was going to attempt something similar for his āWhole Wicked Editionā until he mysteriously disappeared from the forums no less than seven years ago. Take note of the two specific changes in his cutlist for Part 2:

This seems like a very ambitious change, indeed. I have no idea how he would have ā or did, for that matter ā accomplish this specific alteration, but it sounds doable to me. If I can gather enough information on this, Iāll surely see what I can do in this case. š
Youā¦made it greener? I really canāt tell without a proper slider or both versions in their entirety.
On the left is the original, on the right is Exodus.
What do you mean by that? Cuz I was going for the same thing, itās just that the film is so incredibly drained of color that thereās not much to bring out. Youād basically have to colorize it like a black and white film. That said, with this particular scene, I made the decision to leave the original color grading up until McGonagall lights the torches to make the transition more noticeable and emphasize how much more welcoming Hogwarts is with Snape ousted. Most other scenes I regraded. Like I said, though, thereās so little color to begin with that thereās not much I can do.
Hereās an example of one of my recent efforts:
Not a bad effort, Anakin, but Iāve made a conscious effort to make the colour grading look as natural as possible for my own edit of Deathly Hallows.

How are you going to beef up Ben Affleck in the reshoot footage exactly?
Heās currently planning a newly remastered version of his cut in the foreseeable future, as well as a faux āSchumacher Cutā as a companion piece. Cannot wait to see the end result! XD
Ah I thought you meant removing the whole sequence, not just the lines about where they are going. I guess the lines donāt bother me enough to change it. Iām sure some other edits have made that change though, especially all the ones that have combined the final two movies.
So youāre basically leaving the scene as is?
I think that particular scene does break some of the serious tension happening, but with how it plays out and leads into McGonagall talking to Harry I donāt know how Iād remove it. I guess I donāt really mind that scene though.
The only thing I really wanted to change, and I might go back and try again, was the Harry flying through the air with Voldemort during their fight, and blending into each other. I liked most everything else about the movie though.
I think itās easy to remove the following exchange:
Filch: Exactly where is it Iāll be leading them to, maāam?
McGonagall: The dungeons would do.
I wasnāt aiming to just make extended editions. JJPotter already made great, fully extended copies. I only added the ones that I thought enhanced the movies. If I thought the deleted scene detracted from the tone or pacing, or just didnāt fit in very well then I didnāt add it.
Right. How come you havenāt removed anything from DH P2? I personally would have removed McGonagall sending Slytherin House to the dungeons. :v
Why did you choose not to reinsert certain deleted scenes?
Any changes with PoA and DH since the original post?
Never knew that. WriterDuet is a great alternative. š
All deleted footage reinstated?
What did you use to write this behemoth?
Are you talking about the sources of material or what software?
Both, actually. š
Whatās the aspect ratio? 5:3 - 1.66:1? (European Widescreen)
Thereās the trailer, you know? š
Itās 2.31:1.
Is that as common as 2.39:1?
What did you use to write this behemoth?
Is there any way that deleted shots and scenes that were present in trailers and unused music can be a part of these?
That sounds like a real challenge, but in no way impossible. That would make them pure āExtended Editionsā in a sense. I hope JJ finds the motivation to resume production on these edits soon and ups the ante in terms of editing. The transitions could use smoothening out, and some arenāt really needed. Just look at the Half-Blood Prince EE for instance.
Does the webcd link even work anymore?
Care for a link, good sir?
Did you create the new VFX yourself, Kathryn?
Is there an edit of Shazam! somewhere that maintains the horror-esque elements?
