Watched it last night.
Technical-wise there is very little, better nothing to criticize. Splendid job as always.
Despite the low bitrate, the video quality is indeed very good, most people won’t recognize the low bitrate.

• scene at 30:36 needs color grading in my opinion, so it matches better with the scenes before with John in the room (more warm/yellow)
• 22:43 didn’t you want to change that to „Babayaka“ also?

Narrative: Overall i was excited to read about your structure, after watching the edit it decreased a bit, due to several reasons:

• Johns injuries don’t always add up (face, limping)
• why proposing peace („mir“) with Vigo when he still has to hand over his son?
• i would have placed his shower scene after santino leaves and before the henchmen are arriving. This way you would show, John is well aware of the consequences rejecting the marker and underlines his composure towards the nearing escalation
• what didn’t worked for me was the scene at 1:44:07, outside of the church there is the shoot out with Vigos guards, one of his man enters the car and drives off and then John storms out of the building again. He was already outside. Although i get why you arranged the scenes that way
• Vigos death can work for some people, for me it didn’t unfortunately
• i was a bit confused by the following scene change
  —> John checks-in in the continental, goes downstairs in the hidden club, meets Winston (talking about the marker, this audio had a echo/hall effect, was this intended?) and then scene change, we see john in his white dirty pullover and rome. Is this supposed to be a flashback scenario?

Interesting to do (possibly) ten films for a series with eighth seasons (despite the fact they should have gone with more). You´ll have to get creative with movie titles, i guess 😄 The sixth will be “A Dance with dragons”?, the seventh “Winds of Winter”?, 8-10 “A dream of spring Part 1-3”?^^

I share your reasoning for more movies than seasons, though i´m curious how you´ll expand the travel time between them. Hard task^^.
Any concrete ideas how you´ll structure the finale? Or it is to soon to ask?^^

Perkins is indeed a tragic loss, but as you said, there is no place for her in your edit.
Regarding Gianna: I always got the impression that John has to shoot her afterwards, otherwise it wouldn’t be a finished task (kill from his end).
How did you interpreted this scene?

5th movie also flawless in my book.

Thank you very much. It would be sufficient if you upload a audio only file. Therefore you don’t have to re-render a new video file. I can mux the audio myself.

As for sound - well, that’s always a hard one. You see - I play all my edits through my own 9.1 Atmos Soundbar, in which both Stereo Mode and 9.1 mode works brilliantly and dialogue and music worked very well for me. The same on my Surround Sound on my editing laptop. But! That does not mean that other sound systems and computers have the same balance or performance or even optimization as my systems do, and therefore this one is always a little tricky.

Yeah i can understand that, too. I watched it on a stereo sounddeck from „Nubert“.

But! When i do re-release with the musical alteration to said bit, I will do something that has worked before - I can up the center channel (dialogue) with a slight adjustment to put it a little bit more above the rest. That should solve some of the problem. The second bit I will do, is add a “Surround” element to the entire Master Audio. I did this for my Hobbit edit, and it worked for most like a charm. It also improves audio quality.

As for why I haven’t done 5.1 releases yet is simply because of the added work it will take me. Because of new SFX and music for several scenes, adjusting all of them to a 5.1 surround that flows balanced and fluently is hard. I do hope that when I have done all the GoT edits, I might go in and bother to do the work for the 5.1.

Watched A Feast for Crows with the GoT Soundtrack. I think you nailed the narrative as far as it was possible and i thoroughly enjoyed watching it.
Your re-iterations for the soundtrack were well and almost fitting perfectly with the exception of the red wedding. In particular i wondered if it would be possible to let Serj Tankians masterpiece of Rains of Castemere play out fully, because the transition at 2:51:07 felt weird. Also i think the first vocal at 2:49:35 isn’t necessary, only the instrumental of that. Serjs vocal would hit even harder and deeper, in my opinion.

But to choose Serjs iteration is just a brilliant idea!

Technical wise: I would loved to have a 5.1 surround or 3.0 track not a stereo. Because sometimes your music iterations swallow up the dialogue and i think this could be fixed with a center channel on its own. But i don’t know how you timeline looks like, perhaps an volume adjustment on the music would be suffice.

Other than that, i really don’t have anything to say but praises 😃 Thank you!

Does anyone bother that there is blood spilling when obi-wan is cutting maul in half? I can‘t stand that, but i am unsure if its possible to get rid of it. But i think it would be probably very time consuming.

I didn’t turn down audio on any channels. Off source it’s only in ACC format so it might not have the ooph of larger file size tracks.

Would you mind muxing in a AC3 track with 640 kb/s?

So, i watched it today. Overall i grew fond of it. The technical changes are impressive.
I took some notes while watching:

• video quality various often (in theatrical scenes ), especially on tatooine and deleted scenes pop out (maybe use topaz AI again, if you have the paid version?)

• did you do something to the audo stream? the center channel with the dialogue is quite low-keyed. Overall the audio seamed to be quieter than usual, because i had to ramp up my volume by +16. When i switched to another movie had to turn it down again by -16.

• the lights of naboo are neat, but as we see the ship approaching closer to the planet (second cockpit shot), they are gone.

• the beginning with the ambassador (jedi): place ship explosion after gas entering room where jedi sit. My suggestion even though i know you had written “supposedly” the jedi didn´t notice, i found myself questioning while watching “why do the jedi sit there and we didn´t even see them flinch an eye as the ship in the hangar with its people got blown up?”

• force jump to escape the droidika, nice idea (but contradictory to later when obi-wan is running towards maul and qui-gon, why isn´t he using it there). So maybe get rid of it?

• 15:00 journey underwater to naboo, i think it´s not necessary. It can be cut completly

• 29:30 why is anakin suddenly with them after qui-gon and padme left wattos place? Also during the visit subtitles for watto and anakin talking would be nice

• 41:52 sebulba and anakin subtitles would be nice, too

• 44:12 jar jar talks, no sound, frame that shouldn´t be there?

• 1:18:23 gangun subtitles, would be nice also
