These look amazing. When do you plan to release?
Sometime next year.
These look amazing. When do you plan to release?
Sometime next year.
Any chances of uploading it on vimeo? đ
Sorry, probably not. I donât have a Vimeo account, but Iâve seen they have a history of taking down fanedits from their website. I donât want to risk any copyright trouble with these fanedits, so Iâm just sharing them discreetly via private messages on here.
Are the MEGA links not working for you?Yeah, for some reason its not working đ
Do you know resilio? If ExpandedUniverses grant me permission, I would share it with you.
Also, I wanted to ask if you enjoyed CORRUPTION ON MANDALORE? You gave a pretty good review of PATH OF THE PADAWAN, so I just wanted to see if you felt the same way about this installment.
It was worthwhile to watch, the story seemed fluent except at one point if I remember correctly: doesnât have the timestamp at hand but as we hover over the Jedi temple and than cut to padme, ashoka and anakin walking. Is it inside of the Jedi temple? The cut doesnât feel like it is the case.
It would have been nice to see some training of the clones (âbad batchâ), but this would have been something for the first episode.
Broom boy!! Test shot for Anakin having a sunset moment. Though im thinking of locating it closer to town or in town. Possibly from his back yard while working on podracer.
Nice idea, visually it could be more than pleasing đ
As before i´ll mention technical aspects of your edit, since content wise it is and should be your own thing.
Your additions and corrections for episode I are working so far.
Episode II - Corruption of Mandalore
Crawl --> maybe without the exclamation mark. SW never used this kind of thing, but if you want to keep it, just do so
Transitions:
â> 0:22:49 - too abrupt
â> 1:04:30 - perhaps use an audio fade out/fade in to the next scene
â> 1:46:25 - hard abrupt cut
â> 1:48:12, 1:48:12 - same here
â> 1:49:18 - use a audio fade out or fade in
â> 1:50:47, 1:53:44, 1:57:14, 1:57:54 - same here
Damn, you are fast đ Now i have to watch epsiode I again first^^
Just awesome, youâre just awesome.
I wonder how long we have to wait for the season 2 trailerđ
Thanks for the update, still have to watch episode IIđ¤Ş
Iâd LOVE to see your version of the original triloy.
Weâve to be patient, in a pm he stated realistically heâll be finished some time next year.
Damn, that is awesome. Youâre a welcome addition to this community. How long youâve been working in the digital art segment?
I made the opening crawl using an app so I didnât have any control over the angle. I thought it looked the most accurate of the crawl creators I could find though.
I also have no idea how to pan down from the crawl to space, especially since most Clone Wars episodes do not begin in space. But I definitely wouldâve like to have smoother transitions from the crawls if I was more skilled in editing. Smudger9âs edits are really good with space transitions but Iâm nowhere near as skilled of editor as he is lol
Ah, ok. Of course you don´t have to be able to edit like smudger9 đ Step by step.
I had to cut a lot of footage because during that fight a lot of dialogue references the clone-traitor plot from the original episode, which wouldnât make sense here since I cut that storyline. Ventressâs floor thing was cut kind of weirdly originally too, but it was broken up by the clone scenes I removed. I also cut the silly sequence where Ventress throws books at Obi-Wan and Anakin (like thatâs going to do anything to a Jedi lol).
Mh, fair enough. Didn´t recall the episode exactly, but seems to be a tough one for editing.
Sorry, but I didnât edit the main content of those episodes. The council meeting scene doesnât exist unfortunately, or else I would put it in there.
Unbelievable đ What did they thought by writing this.
This is just another problem with transitioning between episodes without the narration. Obi-Wanâs call for help is never shown in the episodes, only mentioned in narration so I couldnât use it. Iâve noticed that this show is a bit hard to edit into films because major plot points are introduced via opening narration pretty often.
Same as above đ
Thatâs where the original episode ended. I think I just need a fade to black and then maybe cut to the Republic fleet emerging from hyperspace outside Geonosis for a better transition.
That sounds good, audio fade out is also important. It ends abruptly.
Iâd probably just add a fade-to-black here. I should have utilized the fade-to-black technique more when making this film, because it works well to show a passage of time and makes for an easier transition between episodes. The following installments are better about episode transitions I believe.
thumbs up
I use iMovie on my iPad, which definitely isnât the best editing software. It was only allowing me the 720p .MOV option so I had to go with that. Though I wouldâve liked to render in higher quality, it just wasnât really an option with my software.
kind of sad, but not your fault. You´re not obligated to purchase a video editor.
Tomorrow i´ll be watching epsiode II and provide my impressions.
So, I finished watching Epsiode I - Path of the Padawan:
First of all, i lift my hat. Really great work. The story per se flows insanely good, I personally never got bored, right amount of humor left. I am happy.
I have some minor issues. You already stated that youâre aware of some unfortunate transitions here and there. So my observations:
opening crawl
did you use the right angle for the floating text? It seems off. Also the text disappears to fast, let it fade more. If necessary use additional footage for a transition from the floating text to the space or a new scene
Obi-Wan and Anakin fighting Ventress
it is obvious there is footage missing e.g. as ventress is Running up the stairs and the next shot is, that sheâs sitting and lurking both to come closer. Add footage back in.
0:51:11
Beforehand they talking about to go to a council meeting and than there is a cut to an mission briefing. Iâm afraid this donât work, youâve to add the council meeting.
1:12:04
Anakin told the clone to make the ships ready, to be prepared if obi-wan asks for their help. You should add his call for help, because it is strange to see Anakin and Ashoka at the medical station and in the scene afterwards onboard of the ship. The same counts for master plo koon. The transition at 1:12:57 is too hard, somehow make it smoother.
1:12:32
did you do some kind of color correction? If so, the whites are too bright
1:34:12
the cut to the new scene is also too hard. Add footage of obi-wan, anakin, padme back in and make the transition smoother
1:54:59 to 1:55:00
again, the cut is too hard, add source material and fade smoothly
Anything else is fine and works well, from my perspective
Some other questions:
Which application do you use for editing? Is it possible for you to do 1080p? Could you render with less compression, so the files will be bigger but contain more quality (e.g. up to 10 Gb per episode) and use mkv as target file?

Very good đ
I share the nitpick above.
I read over the crawls again and found two tittle things, I think are unnecessary:
Path of Padawan
âbeen causing many problems for the Jedi OrderâŚâ - try it without âmanyâ, doesnât feel sw like.
Fate of the Republic
âThe REPUBLIC is completely unawareâŚâ - same here, donât use âcompletelyâ.
Both are an emphasis, that isnât needed. It doesnât add more tragic to the context. Simpler is better.
I appreciate your project, itâs a hell of work.
I think there all working fine now, also there keep your own ideas intact. Thatâs the important thing here.
And yes, youâre right, weâve seen maul before. So forget about that comment.
Hello!!! how are you?
I am looking forward to seeing the progress you have made !! đ
sorry for taking so long to get back, it has been a summer full of work âŚ
here I have the final shot of luke, leia and ben;)

Nice work. Ben looks very strange though. What source is that?
My thoughts on the crawls:
âPath of Padawanâ:
âChildren of Dathomirâ:
âAn untamed evilâ
âFate of the Republicâ
Other than that, Iâm impressed. In my point of view good choice of the right amount of context for the individual episodes.
Looking forward to your edit.
What do you intend to use as a source and which quality? Especially for the audio.
So, i figured i will leave my 2 cents in this thread rather than cluster up the thread for Film IV.
As almightycutie stated, this kind of ending is very pleasing (bran kills the night king), although you have to figured out a believable vfx when arya is killed, i like the idea of some blood specs on the NKs face.
I´m in favour of bran being the NK in the end and prevail against the humans, but in your idea with him fucking up kings landing i see one major problem, at least for my idea (in my head): Wouldn´t it be more suitable to let daenrys attack only the red keep before they wage war against the army of the dead? Of course sadly you´ve to cut scenes like tyrion and jamie in the tent, but from a narrative standpoint it always felt more logical to me. since the NK is the great villian everbody is afraid of. So Iâm torn, because the scene with Tyrion and jamie in the tent is just perfect and emmy material .
EDIT: what would happen after? What about Daeny? because she sure hell won´t give up her ârightfulâ throne.
Love that you´ll release the original score and yours with lotr!
TAL V2: As promised.
I did promise you all a V2 after some reflecting and analysis, both on my part and the audienceâs. I also promised you 5.1 audio channels and to listen to feedback. This has been the priority.
I can therefore announce that V2 is officialy in the works, and that a great deal of major decisions have been made:
The major re-scoring is heavily trimmed down, and as much of The Phantom Menace OST that i can keep, I will keep. This does not include score additions that made the film better and that was greatly liked - such as The Invasion of Naboo.
ALL bugs, errors and weird scenes will be removed and/or fixed.
The additional scenes with Maul in the forest, killing Jedi, will go. Too fanfilm-y. The scene with him talking to Sidious MIGHT be kept. Letâs see how it looks once worked upon.
The new scenes that DID work, like the opening - Maul talking to hologram Sidious on Tattooine - the ending battle sequences, The Invasion of Naboo etc. will obviously be kept. These made the films a lot better, and were changes that were indeed a welcome one.
Iâm open for adding back in some deleted scenes.
But most importantly, Iâm very much opening The Ancient Lore feedback stream again; so do come with suggestions, and loads of them, if you please. đ
My goal is still to make this into the best, and most radical, The Phantom Menace film there is.
HAIL Anjohan!
What do you use as a source?
I think Bobson Dugnutts Theatrical Reconstruction is phenomanal in all aspects.
Version 2.2 will be released today with current pending PM requests sent.
August 27, 2020: ver 2.2 released to fix a video cut error on Exegol when Ren takes the elevator down to see Palpatine. Also now released in 3 different filesizes in High Quality, Good Quality, and Tiny Encode Quality.
All video encodes begininning with ver 2.2 customized for the content with manually defined zones in the encoder command line to increase bitrate (and quality) in specific darker scenes, especially on Exegol. Even the tiny encode file is surprisingly decent for its filesize. Recommended quality to download is Good or High, depending on your bandwith.
Fantastic, will grab the high quality and will let you know about anything that occurs to me.
Here is the trailer

I like the trailer to diplay/inform about your work, but it isn´t a trailer which leaves a non-knowing third party grabbing or desire it, if that is your goal (my personal opion). Nonetheless, can´t wait for your tremendeous series to movie edit.
Damn nice smudger9, great poster work. Looking forward to your trailer. The last 5% are always micro management and thatâs time consuming to the sky^^
Don´t know if iam hallucinating, but at 0:27:02 - 0:27:10 (knights of ren round-shot) there is some kind of flickering at the head of the knights of ren (not all of them but 2 or 3, if i´m correct).
I hope youâre not hallucinating. I did not change that scene in any way.
Maybe compression issues? Would like to know from others, maybe there is something wrong on my side.

I have also been looking into the pros and cons of the 4k versions and whether they are worth it. They are not. They were filmed in 2k and upscaled. So doing mine in 1080p and upscaling would be equal. Plus, movies never render vfx above 2k, even if the movie was shot in 4k. So after the research and debate ive decided to stick with the bluray copies, but may try to use their atmos soundtrack.
Personally, got no problem with that. The upscaling isnât needed.
If you want to use the atmos track, make sure it is real atmos. Often the studios use this as marketing bate and there is no real atmos track or at least only just one or two scenes.
