Yes.
Seriously though, now I have to check two threads instead of just the one.

I speculate the other thread was just fine
Better to talk about something related to the 4k, technically, than some vaporware announcement from
speculation, or books, or screenings.FACT : 4k restorations have been done.
FACT : No official announcements have been made about it.
FACT : Previews of versions have been shown.
FACT : 4k restorations are also being done by other people.
SPECULATION : 4k release will be made.
SPECULATION : An announcement about 4k release will be made.
SPECULATION : Restoration is for the original versions.

seems they’re screening RO and ANH as one event, and ESP, ROTJ, and TFA as another.
If they aren’t releasing a new transfer, SW is going to look like SHIT alongside RO.
wrong thread
Just snagged a copy of the ANH GOUT for $6 at a record/comic store. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it for less than $35 before now. Also, five Bantam-era novels for a buck each. It was a cool day.
Maybe they know something we don’t 😉
These were shown at several trade shows, and other industry shows which was the source of them.

First I’ve heard of that.
Also, the reflection in Raiders is nothing in comparison to the ET Anniversary Edition or the SW SE.
Yeah I don’t really care about fixing little mistakes. For instance, even erasing Indy’s face from the glass in Raiders doesn’t bother me. It removes a moment that takes you out of the film. Isn’t this one of the reasons we hate the SE revisionism, because it has a tendency to take us out of the universe of the film?
Aliens is available in both cuts on the BD.
So long as it looks natural. As if anyone actually has a memory of what the colors looked like when they saw a movie in theaters 20+ years ago.
Well, one thing to note is Bill Hunt has mentioned it a couple times recently as coming soon. So who knows?
I’ve actually never seen it; it only came to my attention about a year ago. But with the Blu Ray supposedly imminent, I decided not to watch one of the renowned sci fi films on window boxed dvd.
Aliens (1986) 6/10
Which version of that film do you watch? I’ve only seen the director’s cut, which I think tends to drag on at times, especially at the beginning. Does the shorter running time of the theatrical cut make it more bearable?
I was watching the Director’s Cut, and yes I feel the theatrical is a little bit better. The scenes with the family at the start of the film are so cheesy. The 80’s hair styles also stand out.
In addition to cheese and drag, I feel those explanatory scenes also take away some of what makes Alien Alien. I feel like we should get to the planet and just see the colony in ruin and be left to imagine how it happened until we see the first grown alien.
Yeah, a little too late to announce an “early 2017” release!
Went back and watched the whole episode and, lo and behold, it also has this priceless moment.
Homer eating sixty-four slices of American cheese has been branded upon my brain ever since I watched that episode, along with every other item of pop cultural significance which has occurred in the first nine seasons of The Simpsons.
There are two Simpsons moments branded upon my brain: “So, you’re going to die,” and, “What did I do to deserve this dry, tasteless Manhattan?!”
When you watch R1 and ANH back to back, it seems like Vader is so pissed off when he boards the Tantive IV because everyone keeps waking him up and making him get out of the tank.
He was trying to have a nap for once in his life, but nooo NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. That Krennic bastard had to ruin everything. Twice.
FTFY
I highly doubt that if they announce it that they would boast all the individual reversions on stage. And they wouldn’t be removing him from the movie anyway. If it’s released, the OUT will be presented as bonus material or an alternate cut. And it’s not like Hayden actually performed in ROTJ. More like George abused his likeness. Didn’t he just swap the heads?

I get that we’re on a forum called OriginalTrilogy, but we can favor the OT without bearing more of that toxic ill will or disrespect towards anyone else who thinks differently. If we want to put it in perspective, “pro-prequels” are more likely to be younger, and at a point you’re really just shit-talking kids. Way to go, champs.
I don’t look at them as “kids.” I look at “pro-prequels” as “conservative Republicans.” Don’t feel the need to associate with them either. Something to do with intelligence level. 😃
You seem like an open-minded guy!
LOL. Just looked to that clip. I’m sure I’ve seen that episode as I’ve seen most all of them up to season 13 or so, but I forgot that one.
Yeah, it would be like complaining that the CG was smoother than the OT work and thus inspired by the SE.
More likely he’ll be part of the next movie as rumored.
Or, you know, it could mean absolutely nothing except the fact he was an actor who played the main character in two Star Wars movies.
I think (baselessly speculate) he could be the harbinger of same-old SE business. I mean, would he really be on a panel where they announce his removal from a film he was previously put into?
I think we’re reading too much into this, by which I mean anything.
According to the prequels and the Clone Wars you can resign or retire from being a Jedi.
Kanan is pretty much superfluous at this point. He’s baggage they could have shed off easily.
My scientific appraisal is that there is a 99.9% that Kanan will die in season 4.
