Those are awesome
Those are awesome
Maybe I’ll watch Dr. Strangelove as the world descends into nuclear war.
Yeah. How hard would it be to post that pic in the no-spoiler or spoiler threads.
I’ve seen the trailer, so I’m not upset about this. But I get it, and this did seem a particularly revealing trailer.
Rules or not, don’t be a dick.
Right. But I think a reasonable pact among gentlemen would be to discuss the trailers only in threads about the movie. That shouldn’t be hard.
Also, in the future, simple questions like this might be better off posted in the Random Thoughts thread.
AFAIK they’re the BD cuts
Agreed. How could new installments of a saga not be dependent on past characters and storylines?
The prequels also had pretty nice posters. TFA had a lousy poster. Take from that what you will.
Palpatine . . . was always the main villain in the saga
What? Who the hell watches Star Wars, or even TESB, and sees the Emperor as the “main villain.”
Something only a deviated prevert could appreciate.
Anyone who posts spoilers will have to answer to the Coca-Cola Company.
The same basic cable channels have been running marathons of Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, etc. every so often for years. I don’t think it’s “we’re losing the rights soon” so much as “eh, guess it’s time for another Star Wars marathon.” Also, I’m not sure how much Disney talks to TNT, but it wouldn’t surprise me if there was some coordination to drum up Star Wars excitement before the trailer drops tonight.
That article was written in 2015? I didn’t think TV was still shot on film.
I know Mad Men was. I’m not sure how widespread it’s been recently apart from that.
SyFy
FTFY
I am never calling it that. Sounds like an abbreviation for some venereal disease. That some ad agency guy probably got paid millions for dreaming up that rebranding ought to be a crime.
I know. It’s stupid.

Should’ve been 2:35:1/2.4:1 i.e. OG OOT & The Clone WarsYep, the same format used for the trilogies and TCW would have been perfect.
Yep.
Yes, that would be great. Thing is, if I visit my parents and we watch a 2.35:1 Blu-ray, my mother still asks if we can get rid of those annoying black bars (“I thought HDTVs were already wide screen”). Can you imagine kids and their cartoons having this “problem”?
OAR or nothing.
Oh no question. Few AV things irk me more than watching movies on cable and knowing the cinematography was likely ruined by a shitty crop job.

Blade Runner is niche? Apparently I don’t have that many friends, because most people I know like Blade Runner.

the way we’ll get a teaser for Han Solo with Episode VIII The Last Jedi.
Says who?
Fargo (1996) – ★★★★ (of ☆☆☆☆)
I live there.
Fargo or Brainerd?
Nobody should drink Dr. Pepper.
Coca-Cola is the only rightful soft drink.
Coke > Dr. Pepper
But I’m trying to remain no longer fat, so:
Diet Dr. Pepper > Diet Coke
Dying of thirst > any variety of Pepsi
Cherry Garcia or Tonight Dough?
If the toy rack at Target alters your perception of a 40 year-old movie, I don’t know what to tell you.
Sometimes I wonder if I’m even a Star Wars fan anymore.
Elements from the OT which continue to resonate with me:
- The visuals.
- The main protagonists.
- Luke’s story.
- The music
Am I allowed to post here on Wednesdays?
You sure?
I have everything by Blind Faith
Remove “Blind” from the beginning and add “No More” to the end and replace “everything” with “two-and-a-half albums” and it would be fixed for me.
It’s a joke. They only put out one album.
You’re offering me a job
