Interesting find! Padme never returns to Naboo alive in in Episode III, so what could this scene be? Was Padme’s death originally going to be a hoax to help protect Luke and Leia? Maybe someone should ask Natalie Portman about it.

The original ending of ROTS was shot on location during production of Episode II. It was replaced by a green screen shoot during Episode III proper.

GL: “the original ending looks too real compared to the rest of the movie. Let’s reshoot it and make the background a fucking cartoon.”

You’d think he would have shot the baby Luke handoff both ways (Owen and Beru) just to be on the safe side. Hopefully, we get to see this footage someday.

Oh! I didn’t even notice!

I just feel bad for the original baby who lost his moment of fame.

Most Baffling Complaint of a Star Wars Movie

While we’re talkin’ lightsabers, the only thing that bothers me is that they always make the bad guy have a red one. And only the bad guys have red ones. That’s dumb.
Of course, that’s coincidental in the OT, so it doesn’t effect my SW world.

What’s the guy up front doing?? He’s about to be skewered mid-air!

And you could say it continues to work in the ST, because Rey inherited Luke’s, and Ren is A Vader wannabe.

On a related note, Star Wars is better when not everyone and his uncle has a lightsaber. That’s really the biggest problem with that scene in Clones.

4K restoration on Star Wars
Time

And from another thread:

I know it’s an anonymous Redditer, but a 4K release is an eventuality, and a release leading into Christmas and IX makes sense.

One can dream it will contain the theatrical when it happens, whether this year or later. There really is no excuse from a technical/financial perspective not to release the original cut when SW hits the format.

With 20th century in Disney’s grasp, what are the odds of an OUT release?
Time

If 4K is happening in advance of IX, I guess we should expect an announcement at Celebration. If we don’t get an announcement at Celebration, then probably not. And if an announcement with no mention of the theatrical cuts, then probably not going to be included. I’d bet if they are including them, they’ll announce it as soon as they announce any release to avoid any potential bad press.
