Due to my age, I became a Star Wars fan during the releases of the prequels. So, when I first watched them, I started referring to them by numbers, due to the strong presence of the Roman numerals in the prequel posters and the OT DVD covers. Then the Blu-Rays came out and I bought them to replace my pillarboxed DVDs. This is when I really became peeved at the SEs, due to the new changes which then made me look back and see what else had been changed, making me realize what a farce this all was. For purity’s sake and somewhat out of protest, I started referring to them as Star Wars, Empire, and Jedi, in other words becoming an SW old soul. So I never went through a “New Hope” phase. Today, I’m already to the point that I get annoyed and “correct” my friends when the say things like “the fourth one” or “episode 5,” and don’t you dare refer to it as “A New Hope” around me.
Who cares? In Star Wars there wasn’t even a mention of “Jedi Master’s”

He used the italics when spelling “Star Wars” for a reason. The film is more widely known as A New Hope but he chooses to call the film by it’s proper name.

Are they actually shooting in 70mm?
No, they are using the new Arri Alexa 65, the 6.5K digital equivalent of a 65mm film camera. This is the third film to use this camera, but first to be fully featured. IMAX is also using the Alexa 65 as a basis for their new digital IMAX camera.
What does this mean for aspect ratio? I kind of liked the idea of the non episodic films having a completely unique visual style, even down to the AR
you know what made me geek out more than anything? They had the “X” shaped antenna on top of the star destroyer bridge standing upright like it did in the original film - it was laid flat in the subsequent movies. But the fact they’re paying attention to those kind of tiny details is AWESOME.
But yes, looks pretty great. The one thing that has me a little… worried (for lack of a better word) is the martial arts. That kinda feels out of place in a film set right before the original. Will certainly wait and see how it integrates in the full film, but it was the one thing that kinda stood out in a not-so-good way in the trailer. Everything else looks friggin fantastic!!
Also got the storm trooper silver ANH grills right, something GL couldn’t be bothered with even for the SE of the same movie.

For a reveal that the Jedi Order was founded to defeat Snoke, but Snoke corrupted one of the Jedi, and this corrupted Jedi then founded the Sith. Now that the Sith have been wiped out, Snoke has taken things back into his own hands.

The reason ROTJ get’s flack is because of the Ewoks who kill the pacing and diminish the Empire due to them being a big reason in why they fall. Also Leia being Luke’s sister is universe shrinking but with the “I’ve always known” line makes their whole history almost nauseating. Furthermore they just made them siblings in order to resolve the love triangle so it doesn’t feel like a natural part of the story but rather a cop out. Luke’s temptation should have been a lot more than Palpatine saying “Your friends are going to die” a million and one times. And as shitty as SKB was Death Star 2.0 was a more overt rehash than that one. Lastly and most importantly imo the destruction of the Death Star and the loss of Vader and Palpatine shouldn’t have been the end of the war. With all the other ships, troops and Imperial Officers the war would have realistically gone on for years to come. But all that is thtown out of the window for a phony fairy tale ending.

Not saying it’s a bad film; it’s pretty good but it was a bad way to end the trilogy. Especially if it had been the last film in the saga.
