Anyone here live in Culver’s country?
Anyone here live in Culver’s country?
I took this quiz on starwars.com and I got Sy Snootles 😦
Something interesting is that the picture that came up was actually a high quality version of the original puppet rather than the CGI abomination version. #OOTconfirmed jk but still noteworthy.
I decided to do a reverse image search on Google. That particular picture exists nowhere else on the web, though there are similar ones. Definitely taken intentionally from internal sources, not off Google images by some lazy intern.
The very first Christians were Jews, as was Christ. Christianity was essentially a sect of Judaism. They continued to fast, keep kosher, etc. At Pentecost it was decided that gentiles who wished to become Christians did not have to become Jews (i.e., be circumcised). Hence the punishments prescribed in Leviticus are no longer applied.
Edit, this was a reply to movie…
Head Hunters, Herbie Hancock
The Levitical laws are pretty brutal.
Yes, they are. And they have to be understood in the context of the 2000 B.C. society. As Christ makes clear, we are no longer bound by these laws.
I still think the idea that Anakin turned to the dark side to save his child and then turned back for the same reason was the best idea Lucas had in the prequels and it’s what makes machete order work.
But he didn’t. He did it to “save [his] wife from certain death.”
If you want to pretend that you don’t understand the thread, that’s on you.
Unfortunately, I’m not sure he’s pretending…
“Wow, that CGI sure doesn’t hold up at all almost a decade later. Jesus. Just use the puppet photo, even that’s way better.”
Two decades
The CGI is so bad that on her databank page they’d rather use the version from Clones or Rebels, whichever she’s in.
Interesting that that photo in that quality is easily accessible on Lucasfilm’s hard drives considering it was excised from the film in '97.
My favorite tradegy is Macbeth.
Saw the Clone Wars movie was on Netflix and decided it might be good for a laugh, so I turned it on. One thing that struck me is that the opening space battle shot looks practically just like ROTS and all the sets look almost as realistic as in the prequels. Basically what I’m getting at is, save the actors, the prequels are basically a cartoon.
I love rougher look of Vader in SW. Though it makes sense practically that he may need to replace components or the whole apparatus every so often. He did wear it every day.
What about Col. Klebb in From Russia With Love? She sure gave off a lesbian vibe in that one scene.
Yeah, that’s who I was referring to. She was a homosexual, Honor Blackman in Goldfinger was bisexual, and Wint and Kidd were homosexuals in Diamonds Are Forever. I’m still not sure about some characters, but Skyfall had at least the fourth homosexual and fifth or sixth LGBT character in general.
It is even clearer in the (excellent) novel that Klebb is lesbian. Her lusting over Tatiana (the pictured scene) progresses to the point where it becomes very uncomfortable.
Given his beat around the bush mentality here lately, I’d say SOMETHING has happened. But what and how happy will it make us, who knows?
The concept of personal canon is such a weird and intangible thing to me. Do you guys really see all these things fit together when you consume these movies/TV shows/comics/etc.? Or is it just simply you compiling what bits of Star Wars content you like and think are worthy of existing (for lack of a better term)? Or is it picking the things you think make sense together and should be things that happened in this universe?
I agree. I love the OT and TFA. And since I like them, I watch them. I don’t like the PT, so I don’t watch it. That’s pretty much all there is to it.
I’m just curious if you enjoy the twist being preserved or the removal of episode 1 more?
That’s a pretty dumb question. Frink has made it clear he hates the prequels regardless. Why would he give a damn about the benefits of the Machete order?
I too highly doubt the production is in trouble. But I would be disappointed if the reason for the reshoots is to make it less of a “gritty” war movie and add more of the Star Wars “magic” of the episodic films. It would be interesting to experience a film of a different tone in the SW universe, and what better way to explore that than through a tangential plot line that’s not essential to the saga. It would be a shame if they passed on that opportunity.
Maybe it’s just bad. Who knows?
Rouge One, VIII, and IX are among my favorites too.
I used to find that scene tolerable. Thanks Dek.
This thread had morphed from “which one shitty aspect of the shitty SE can I live with if I had to” to “this is why I love the SE!”
98 or 99 leading up to TPM. Don’t have a clue what version it was, they were lent VHS tapes is all I can remember.
Just re-watched Casino Royale (2006) for the first time in a few years. It really is an excellent film.
I haven’t decided yet but it will eventually end up in the anime I’m producing.
“The Rebels against ridiculousness”
In my scenario, his kidneys and intestines are in his head. Or maybe his feet.
Dig it. Going into my personal canon, whatever the hell that means.
