TLJ, Solo, RO, and TFA have all been on Netflix at one point or another.

The only Star Wars content on Netflix are The Clone Wars (both the movie and show), The Last Jedi and Rogue One. They’re going to be leaving Netflix very soon since Disney+ is launching this Fall.

Just saying it is not necessarily true that they can’t be on streaming and cable simultaneously.

If we’re counting the SEs then I guess the worst moment in all of the Star Wars movies that I’ve seen is the dance number in Jabba’s palace. Not including the SEs I’d probably say the CGI Peter Cushing stuff in Rogue One. Either that or my initial choice of the droid assembly line in Clones.

Worse than Jabba in Star Wars? The new song and dance number might be more cringe inducing, but Jabba in Star Wars has implications for the viewer that stretch beyond the single scene and even movie.

Samsung’s departure is being overblown. It’s a crowded market, and they’re better known for their tv sets anyway.

Not everyone can stream to their heart’s content even if they wanted to. Conversation I had with the phone company guy installing my new DSL said it would take an act of Congress to get high speed fiber optic cables installed in areas like where I live. Physical media isn’t going anywhere.

Wake me when they stop making Compact Discs. 😉

And as I understand it, Sony’s, Panasonic’s, Pioneer’s, etc. repossess to Oppo’s and Samsung’s exit from the market was to step up their game.

Also worth noting that Samsung didn’t just quit 4K, they quit optical media players outright. So it looks more of a shift to focus on TV sets than a statement about any particular format.

When I watch a movie on Blu-Ray, I sometimes find myself wondering how much better 4k could really be. I mean, I can make out the individual stubble hairs on Marlon Brando’s chin for gods sake (One-Eyed Jacks). How much better could it be?

I get the potential benefits of HDR for certain movies, particular flashy sci fi flicks. But beyond that, am really missing anything?

Mary Poppins

I hadn’t seen it since I was a kid, and I feel like that’s still true. One of the greats.

As a side note, the Blu-Ray is uncharacteristically superb for Disney. Presented with lovely film grain, matte lines, and other compositing “warts” all intact.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri

Pretty good. Would watch again.

TPM: Jar Jar stepping on poop
AOTC: The head swap
ROTS: Anakin murdering younglings
Solo: L3’s introduction
R1: Ponda Baba cameo
ANH: Leia’s British accent
ESB: The incestuous kiss
ROTJ: “Somehow I’ve always known”
TFA: Revealing Kylo Ren’s parentage too early
TLJ: Maz cameo

any, not every. Which one takes the cake?
