So you are agreeing that conservatives of the "Glenn Beck", "Rush Limbaugh", "Bill O'Reilly" and "Sarah Palin" variety are stupid neanderthals?

I think the issue here, in part, is that the divide is too wide, and it is nearly impossible for either side to relate. The reason they seem like stupid neanderthals to you is because you don't hold any of the same values they do, and they don't hold any of the values you do. There is no connect there. You cannot relate. The fact that they constantly harp on about the same things endlessly doesn't help (dey took er jabs!), but quite honestly, the other side is just as asinine.

Guys like Jon Stewart and Keith Olbermann are just as big of tools as guys like Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly. It is just that neither side is willing to admit this. Obviously, if you argee with someone, then they are absolutely brilliant and a fantastic commentator that everyone should be watching; but if you don't agree with them, then they are obviously trying to pull the wool over their follower's eyes in attempts to achieve something really sinister.

So it goes, until guys like Olbermann and Beck don't matter anymore and people are able to get worked up about things that they feel matter on their own without needing the guidance from commentators. But due to mankind's sheepish herd mentality, that is never going to happen. We are natural followers, just waiting for the next guy to stand up on his soapbox and lead us into revolution. Throughout history goverments have risen and fallen in just this manner. That sort of thing isn't going to change anytime soon.

I used to travel all the time, and from my experience, American airports have been absolute hell since late 2001. It was always a relief when I was sat down and buckled into the flight that would take me out of the country; or always a great stress when the airplane bringing me back into the U.S. was getting ready to land. I have only passed through UK airports a handful of times, but they have always been extremely pleasant experiences in comparison to those American airports.

But your experience sounds pretty rough, Bingowing.

It is such a stress to travel anymore, I am just fed up with it. I'd probably travel by plane more often if this wasn't the case. As it is, I'd rather just drive (my least favorite mode of transportation).

the first Terminator was a huge ripoff of (I believe) a Twilight Zone or Outer Limits episode...

It borrowed and expanded on ideas found in two different episodes of The Outer Limits. I've seen both episodes, and can say definitively that Terminator is not a huge rip off of either of them.

Cameron has a long history of being accused of ripping people off. His TV series, Dark Angel is often considered a rip off of a series of James Patterson books.

Your vinyl record collections
Time

I have a grand total of two vinyls. First one is the the Star Wars read-along story book. The other one is a recent piece of Bioshock 2 swag, in the form of a real vinyl with a recording of the Rature (National?) Anthem, from the somethinginthesea.com viral marketing thing (never played the viral marketing game, but heard people who wrote to a certain address were getting free stuff, so thought I'd give it a try).

I have often thought of digging through the massive piles of vinyl they have at places like Good Will, but have always found the massive piles too overwhelming and time consuming to mess with. If I had a turntable, then I'd definitely put out a greater effort.

Wow, I am surprised Fink didn't make the VINH ignore list and I did. I now feel like I hold a very honored position. I guess I disagreed with him a bit more than you did. LOL, turns out I shouldn't have edited that post of mine that you happened to read before I could edit, Fink. I didn't want to be too harsh on VINH, but probably the worse he would have done is ignore me, which he did anyway.

Don't be surprised Warb, you've really no reason to be on anyones ignore list. You really don't post all that much and when you do you stay on topic, you're not crass and you don't make pointless jokes.

Reminds me of a memory that came up last night. My mother used to have a catering business and when she made cakes, she'd usually cut off the edges. Instead of throwing them out, she'd cut them up, put them in a big bowl, then add whipped cream and a few cherries. Messy, but delicious!

There is a naked woman burried in several gallons of whipped cream... and it reminds you of your mom feeding you cake scraps with cherries?

Bumpin' our unofficial "Ignore List Discussion" forum.

VINH added me to his ignore list, I guess because I offended him by disagreeing with him, then offended him even more by pointing out that he was offended just because I disagreed with him after he specifically mentioned my disagreement with him in an argument trying to prove that he doesn't get offended when people disagree with him, despite the fact that everyone at OT.com seems to think he does (obviously, they are just ganging up on him to be mean).

From the looks of things, sounds like he has every regular poster other than Don Gaffer on his ignore list (bet he gets tired of clicking all those "Show Post" buttons all the time). I've actually often enjoyed having him around, but you have to walk on egg shells around the poor guy. I work with kids with these kinds of disabilities all day, kind of a relief not to have to deal with it around here too.

Penis!

Thanks for the review. The nine year old living inside me who has watched the Jabba the Hutt scenes from Return of the Jedi several hundred times more than the rest of the move, has been somewhat tempted to give that book a flip through. However, the adult inside of me always stopped him, realizing that she is more chemical than woman now... Kind of sad, she more closely resembles Jabba the Hutt now than the does that brilliantly gorgeous thing he had chained to his thrown (and no, I am not talking about the Kwakian Monkey Lizard). Penis. (I can see the appeal. You have to admit, it is one of the more fun words in the English Dictionary to say).
