Thanks!  I've made it to the part where you say you've spent 200k on this... WOW!  That alone means no one here has the right to criticize your efforts, that's a serious sacrifice for the love of film and SW.  I hope the powers that be recognize that when the time comes...

Other people around here have spent their own money to obtain film prints and the like. They simply choose not to discuss it.

I'm sure many have, I've admired Poita's recent equipment acquisition.  I wasn't trying to say no one else has sacrificed.  I respect all of the members here who have sacrificed so much time and money for the love of SW.

Personally I love M Verta's videos! I haven't looked at the legacy forum for a long time because there was rarely new content there the last time I checked, so I appreciate a heads up here when there's something new over there. Even if we never get to see a finished product I really like seeing the process, I think it's fascinating personally.  Just my 2 cents...

If they are using a homemade scanner then the most likely reason is that their light source is not spectrally matched to their sensor (camera).

I believe that they said they changed/improved their capture process, but at some point I remember they were using a point and shoot camera, I'm sure it has auto white balance and color correction on it.  I know there's a huge difference in my dslr when I shoot raw vs jpg, the jpg has lots of adjustments pre-applied to it before I export from the camera.

I'm surprised that there aren't more of these promo discs out there.  Maybe the attention this is getting will turn up some more that have been hiding in the back of some office somewhere.  As popular as Jedi was it seems reasonable that someone else would have hung on to it.  Were they given to different potential clients or just shown at a convention?

...Not everyone has a blu ray player.

When making that statement, I was under the assumption that there isn't a sane person who would prefer a few new stupid changes to 2004 version (which is already on DVD).

The 2004 dvd's are out of print, right?  So this is I guess the only way you can buy a dvd if you need one.
