ITS HAPPENED-- OOT AVAILABLE FROM LUCASFILM

It is illegal to profit from Star Wars without having a licensing agreement from Lucasfilm. Obviously, we have a hard time enforcing this overseas with people selling pirated Star Wars DVDs. The reason we had to finally release the old films on DVD was because of all the illegal pirating going on. We were afraid that if we waited any longer the pirates would completely saturate and take the DVD market away from us.

Anyone know if he really said this.

Not sure, but that's the exact same thing GL said in 2004 when people asked him why he was releasing the OT (SE) ahead of schedule. Who ever it was on IMDB might just be reading an interview from 2004...or maybe not.

End of SE ROTJ...
Time
According to the script, the only way a Jedi can become one with the force is if they reach a higher state of mind through compassion. However, once they reach that "level" they can train themselves to fade away...which is what Ben and Yoda learn to do. When Qui Gon died he had reached that "level" but hadn't learned to let go at will...hence his body didn't dissapear, because his spirit already left his body after he was stabbed. So he can still appear as a ghost and make his voice heard. Ben and Yoda both trained to have the power to fade away at death. Anakin didn't train...but reached that "level" of compassion when he gave his life for Luke....so he gets to be a ghost.

Only problem is that Anakin finally attained that "level" as an old man...not when he was a kid, so the presence of Hayden isn't justified under any circumstance.

Soundtrack for Star Wars OOT DVD?

If they use a 384 kbps rate, the sound will be fuller. Ideally, THX would use a PCM track instead, which has a bitrate of over 1500 kbps, but I doubt they'll do this. I don't see them using a 4.1 track to approximate the 70mm experience.

what was the bitrate for the 04 DVDs?

Furthermore, would the 2.0 decoded into pro-logic sound nearly as good as the 6-track (70mm) audio?

Soundtrack for Star Wars OOT DVD?

Ok, can someone confirm what this guy is saying aboutthe OOT soundtrack? And wether or not the 2.0 soundtrack (played in prologic sound) would be the same as the 6 track surround?

Cause from what I read, "The sound editing and re-recording team began by preparing a four-track master mix (Left-Center-Right-Surround), which would serve as the basis for both the 35mm and 70mm stereo versions. The master mix was dubbed into a matrix-encoded two-track Lt-Rt (Left total-Right total) printmaster for use on the 35mm Dolby Stereo prints. The same four-track master, with some enhancements, was also used to create the six-track version. In comparison to the 35mm Dolby Stereo version, the six-track soundtrack during playback offered discrete channels, greater clarity and dynamic range characteristics, and special low-frequency content (bass extension, or "baby boom")."

So basically, how I understand it is that instead of getting 4 discrete channels(like we would with the 6-track 70mm soundtrack), we are only getting two channels of discrete sound with the 2.0 DVD soundtrack...which won't sound nearly as good.

I believe that IS a symptom of stepping back and thinking about this for a second. In all its forms.

I seem to be a form of all three people you referred to there, but I won't take it personally.

Anyway, shit - clearly they DID read this forum. They're stealing our fucking ideas! Original crawl and now this:

http://starwars.com/collecting/shop/shopnews/news20060503.html

WHAT? That's not their shirt! That's an OT shirt! Legacy edition, right?

They should be sued for that ... except they own Han and OT doesn't.

Hm.

Citizen ... Tequila Mockingbird and I are doing something with Howard the Duck probably, a widescreen version of it .... and also an extended pan & scan cut of The Muppet Movie.

Well, er, he's doing em cos he's got em. I'll be ... looking at em. And getting em.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!

That shirt is Lucasfilms way of flippin you the bird! You should feel both furious and honored atthe same time.

As far as I'm concerned, that is DEFINITIVE proof that this site made the OOT release happen.

Torrents Noob.
Time
Bump.

On my old PC I used to have all the necessary stuff for using bit torrent. Now that I have my notebook, I've forgotten it all. There used to be an excellent guide to BitTorrent at MF.com, but about a year ago, they got real selective and started kicking people off their site (I was one). So now I do not have access to that guide. So now I'm completley lost.

***The "Darth Editous" Episode IV DVD Info and Feedback Thread*** - a partially "de-specialed" DVD
Time
"And for the love of God! There's GOT to be something you can do about the Ian McDiarmid scene. It's like, I want him in there, but the visual looked so stupid. Is there a possibility of making your own hologram out of other Emperor scenes from ROTS or ROTJ and then compositing it with the Vader footage? The transmission can crackle and sputter to hide the lips not matching up. They're in an asteroid field after all. If that's too ambitious, perhaps you could just manipulate the existing image, fix the hood and add shadow to the neck to hide that turtle thing he had going on. It just did not look right at all. Anyway, hopefully you'll come up with something better - and hopefully not the original old lady/chimp thing, 'cause that one doesn't work any more."

Lower the brightness so much that most of his face is shadowed, then it will look eerily mysterious and still look the the emperor. Now if you can restore the original dailogue WITH Ian's voice.....
