Which one? No, I don't mind so long as I don't sound like my normal horse's ass self. No, wait, that would rule out every single thing I've ever said. Ah, go ahead and use the quote. I'd just like to know which one it is.

Luke, out of curiosity, what is your local paper? Let us know if they have a website and what the URL is, because it would be cool if we could link to the article off this site somewhere and Jay could even use a link to the article as a reference in e-mails that he sends for support and whatnot. We can put buttons and banners on webpages, but these still don't hold water against the power of print support. Still something so much more credible about seeing this sort of thing in print.

What do you think? Does this petition make a difference?
Time
Yeah, you would have to have a pretty high initial production number. And I agree that making it a limited-time-only offer might have the effect desired by Lucas. High numbers and relatively quick sales. Look how it's helped Disney by having their animated flicks come out for short periods of time before going into moratorium. Produce a few quick TV commercials when the time is nearly up and that will boost sales yet again.

Another great way of ensuring fast sales is to release the OT DVDs the day after Thanksgiving. That first "official" day of the Christmas sales season is bound to shoot numbers through the roof.

Hell, I'd wait overnight for my local store to open to be first in line to buy it. Gimme gimme gimme.

How many signatures?
Time
Jay,

I'm afraid to try to take the time to scroll through all the petition signatures myself as there are only so many hours in a day. But, do you happen to know offhand if any celebrities or anyone affiliated with the original SW trilogy has signed the petition? That would be pretty damned cool to have the support of someone who was involved in it.

Boycott Episode III!
Time
I always assumed the timeline was that Anakin knocks up Padme (lucky bastard), he turns to the darkside of the force while she goes into hiding, she gives birth and he never knows, then she dies. So it wouldn't be her death driving him over the edge. Because if he knew about her death and wasn't pushed over already then the likelihood would be that he knew about the twins as well because he would have to be there to know about her death and she would've had to give birth to them before she dies, right?

Boycott Episode III!

Well, I don't think it would be a flashback so much as it would be one of those hazy edged memories featuring no more than Padme's face. Okay, not literally hazy-edged, but you get my point. It would be like some kind of quick flash to a shot of Padme's face while Leia says the line about her mom being beautiful yet sad.

"This book is so full of flashbacks and flashforwards... and I think I even counted a flashsideways!"

(okay, this isn't the exact quote but it's close enough for government standards)

So far as I've heard, scenes with Padme are actually going to be added to the original trilogy as well (primarily in ROTJ I think). That's some of what Lucas wants to do is establish that she's not dead and that Luke and Leia find out who their mother really is or reunite or some such crap.

List of Supporting Sites
Time
Hey all,

the other thread in this category was getting a bit bogged down with text. Let's try something new in this thread. If you have a site with an originaltrilogy.com text or graphic link, simply list the URL here. If you happen to be surfing and find a site with the link that is not already listed, add the URL here. Let's try to keep it to nothing more than URLs.

First two...

www.kapgar.com

www.thedigitalbits.com

This way, we can show our support for the sites that are supporting our cause. Copacetic?
