Saddam Hussein Captured!

Nah, I don't think that's why at all, Shimraa. We had justification and international support to go after Al Qaida in Afghanistan. However, that wasn't good enough for us. We found some information that said Al Qaida was training in Iraq and had funding from Iraq, so we trumpeted that up into justification to go to war against Iraq which many of still believe is just Dubya's way of finishing what his father started in 1991. Honestly, I look at it as just an excuse to go to war against Iraq. I don't think we should be there. If anything, the U.S. comes off in the worldview as being the aggressor. No longer are we the country running to help the little guy being bullied like we did when Iraq invaded Kuwait back in 1990. Now, we're the invader. Yes, Iraq has done some bad stuff. There's no question about it. But, what right do we have to tell another country how they can be run? By that rationale, any nation that does not support democracy has the right to just come over here and overthrow Bush.

I support our troops and hope they return home soon. I just am not a big fan of our Commander in Chief.

I just saw the SW Holiday Special
Time
Who aired the Holiday Special and how was it advertised? Was this some huge deal on TV? Did it get high ratings? Because I honestly cannot remember a thing about this special ever having been on TV. Odds are that my parents and I did watch it and, if I were to see it again, I would probably have recall on repressed memories or somesuch. But for now, I'm living happily in the Land of Blissful Ignorance.

I also agree that Osama should have remained our number 1 target all along. I'm sure he still is, but you never hear anything about the Bin Laden Gopher Bop anymore (read: he keeps popping up all over the place in videotapes and audio recordings and we keep striking right where we believe it was that he showed up out of his gopher hole like the old arcade game with the gophers and the mallot). I think we need to reassure the world that we're still after him.

And so far as I've heard, they intend to allow an Iraqi court to try Hussein. With American advisors of course.

Actually, thankfully, Virtual PC is just a Microsoft Windows emulator and not actually produced by Microsoft. And it does work very well. Older VPC versions would not play nice with peripherals plugged in via USB or other ports. Now they do. I can use my PC-only MiniDisc software (developed by Sony) on Virtual PC and plug my MD player in via USB and it will all work together well.

Oh, and for those keeping score... that's five Mac aficionados. Three who own and two who are going to buy when the money is made available. Welcome to the "Dark Side" of computing, Jambe.

Out of town...

I don't think it's housing problems so much as just the fact that he has to find a place to live, period. It's tough when you're struggling in the job market to actually find a reasonably priced place to live. Luckily the lower interest rates that we've had lately in the U.S. have driven the house buying market through the roof and apartment complexes have suffered as a result and they tend to have better deals lately to bring people back in the fold. So, if Dayv can handle apartment living, he should be okay. But, it's still the whole job issue. My wife and I are struggling with the same deal. We've just got a small apartment. We want a place of our own, but are still working on the whole down payment issue which is going to take us quite a while.
