I would have to agree with you on that one. Funny thing is, when I was coming back from Florida a couple weeks ago, I was watching "Eight Men Out" on my portable DVD player. Great flick.

And, my wife called it. While all the fans and sportscasters in Chicago were railing about the Angels busy travel schedule thinking it would give the Sox the advantage in game 1, my wife said that they were depending too much on that little tidbit and it would bite the Sox in the ass. And she was right. Sox down 3-2 in game 1.

The Return of Six Degrees of Star Wars

I'm going to tackle this one without IMDb...

Bradley Whitford (Adventures in Babysitting) Vincent D'onofrio (Men in Black) Tommy Lee Jones (The Fugitive) Harry.

Happy Birthday Michelle Trachtenberg.

Update: now that I've gone back to confirm my path, I discovered that Whitford was in Presumed Innocent with Harry. Would've saved a couple steps. C'est la vie.

I am. But this is a Chicago team in the playoffs, so I'm pulling for them. I'm not a fan, but Chicago needs a championship. In baseball, it's been far too long. Well, I'm only pulling for the ChiSox after they eliminated the BoSox who are my fave AL team.

Jay, I'm sure you're a good-looking guy and whatnot, but I'll be damned if I wanted to see your ass slathered in bologna and whatever else it was.

Post count: soon to be made irrelevant.
Time
I agree with Eros. If we're trying to make things a bit even keeled by eliminating post counts, then how is having rank-based titles a good thing? Just get rid of it altogether. Save "Emperor" for Jay, save "Imperial Guard" for the forum mods, and reserve "Bantha Fodder" for people who annoy us (in a joking way, of course). Save nothing else. After thinking about it, this is really how I feel now.

But I do still stand by my idea that everyone should start as "Padawan Learner" and stay at that level for six months to prove their mettle. No post counts should play into this at all. Then they can create their own title. Eliminate all other post-based titles.

Samuel L. moving onto serious art films

"The Man" tanked at the box office. Through the weekend prior to this past one, The Man had been in theaters for four weeks and only made 8.2 million. Sad. Here are each week's rankings for that film...

Week 1 - 6th place
Week 2 - 12th place
Week 3 - 21st place
Week 4 - 44th place

It never got any higher than 6th place. Hell, it only made $4M in it's opening weekend. Not good.

The idea that is being thrown around now is that rank-based titles will be irrelevant when the new forum software is implemented. Jay's considering an idea I came up with where anyone who is new to the forum remains a Padawan Learner for six months (or some other predetermined amount of time). After that time, they can create their own user title. We figure that the time period that you spend as a PL will help judge your willingness to continue with the forum. If you are still active after that, a custom title is yours for the taking. If you want to be a Jedi Knight, go for it.

Me? I'll go back to being "Hired Gun." And I like it. That's what I used to be before I got up to Jedi Spirit.
