Read these two articles please...

Basher, you're the tool here.

I loved this line from the end of the second article...

Lucas doesn't owe you anything so don't hate him.

How the hell does the dipshit author of this article figure that Lucas doesn't owe us anything?!? We made him who he is. Without the fans, he's just another hack director doing BS studio B-grade projects. Without our money and our devotion, Lucas would have been nothing. Read that carefully... N-O-T-H-I-N-G.

I don't hate Lucas, I just don't respect his decision and his claim that we don't need the OT because it's not how he envisioned it. Why did he release it then? What kind of director releases a half finished project? And if you want to go back and retool it, fine, go ahead and do it. You have that right. But we have the right to see the version that we grew up to love and existed for two decades before your first set of touch ups.

SW:ANH is on the AFI Top 100 list as one of the best films ever made. But the name is followed by "1977" not "1997". And this list was put out after the SEs came out. So that alone should tell you which version is better.

On a different note, some other ramrod suggested that we Star Wars fans mobilize at Best Buys, Wal-Marts and other retail outlets selling the trilogy set and "encourage" others not to buy them (ignoring the logistics in "covering" a single large metropolitan city such as New York, LA, Houston, etc). Let me know if the cops treated you well after you get out of jail.

The guy who suggested this wasn't talking about being loud and obnoxious and, God forbid, violent. Just informing people that don't know. If store management asks you to leave, you do so. That's all. Only a real ramrod would think of taking this to the level where police would get involved.

Is it OK for me to link to this forum on my website?
Time
Absolutely. In fact, from the homepage, there is a page that you can grab banners and buttons to use on your site. The more crosslinking to this site, the better. When you do link it, drop an e-mail to the webmaster at jay-at-originaltrilogy-dot-com and let him know as he likes to maintain a master list of sites that are linked here.

Granted none of the buttons say anything about the forum, but if you like 'em, you may as well use them.

Info: OT Bootleg DVDs
Time
I have the VHS editions but no means of capturing it on my computer (that I'm personally aware of) to burn it to DVD. I do have a DVD burner (SuperDrive in my Mac) with a HD that should be big enough to handle the files if I could figure out how to get it on there. Of course it would be a transfer from VHS and not the LDs.
