Radio Prank Goes Wrong
Time
Actually, one time when I was a young teen, a friend and I placed orders on all these 800 number lines and sent COD orders to a neighbor. In case you're wondering what COD is, it stands for Cash on Delivery. Which means we didn't have to pay when we ordered, the person who receives the package pays upon delivery. He was none too happy.

THE HOBBIT
Time
Yeah, there was. It was a Rankin 3-parter as I recall. The Hobbit - The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King. This, of course, confused the hell out of kids who wanted to read the books and had no idea what the hell Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers were. I was always under the impression that the Hobbit was the first, LOTR second, and ROTK third. Makes sense, right?

Technically, you could argue that it's had three different titles in its various releases. When it first came out in 1977 and again in 1978, it was simply "Star Wars". When it was rereleased in 1980 for the release of ESB, it was "Star Wars - Episode IV: A New Hope". Then, in 1997, it was released as "Star Wars - Episode IV: A New Hope: Special Edition". It was rereleased a couple other times in there, but I'm not certain of the dates. I'm thinking 1982 and 1985 for some reason, though.

Lord of the Rings : Extended Edition

It would have to be a dark blue to fit in with the really deep red and green sets that are already out. I don't think you need to worry about ROTK being royal blue or anything.

Gundark, thanks for the lesson. That helps explain a lot. Always wondered why RGB became such a popular color set and people explained it as the "primary" colors despite my protestations.

DVDs of 2004?
Time
I was planning on hitting Starsky & Hutch with low expectations since it's a movie I'm only seeing because my wife wants to see it. Schmaltzy comedy is hit or miss with me. Some I love, some I hate. I think I pumped up my expectations for SOR too high because of all the "great" press it received and what I heard from people I work with and people here on this forum (made several top 10 of 2003 lists, as I recall). Falsely high hopes can kill a movie. Prime example... TPM.

BOYCOTT (the 2004 OT SE DVD release)

Yes, these are definitely not revisions in the same vein as LOTR. The same goes for EEs or Director's Cuts of movies like The Abyss and The Exorcist. These movies respliced footage that existed since it was filmed but was cut out for the sake of time. SW is doing some reinsertion which I have no problem with like Biggs' scenes. However when he creates whole new scenes, that's when I have a problem. Even the Jabba scene in ANH is bad, in my book, because it is being severely doctored. Yes, the footage is original and cut out which I've said I don't have a problem with. But he changed Jabba (for necessity's sake, obviously) and added in Boba Fett. He should just leave the scene on the cutting room floor. If he can't reinsert the scene using only audio and video remastering to bring it to the a/v quality of the theatrically released film, then it should be left alone. Fuhgeddaboudit.
