BaseBall talk

While admittedly, the Cubs season started a bit slow, did anyone catch highlights of the Easter Sunday trouncing the Cubs put down on the Braves? 10-2. Kerry Wood tied a team record with 7 straight strikeouts and they nearly had three homeruns in a row if that third one wasn't stolen right above the wall (in all fairness, it was a beautiful nab).

Your tombstone

"Here lies Lester More.
4 slugs from a .44.
No les, no more."

No, that's not my name. Just lifting it from the movie Tombstone.

I'm not sure how I want to be buried. I love cemeteries and I love visiting them. I think they're absolutely beautiful and peaceful. But I'm not sure I want to be buried in one. I'd almost rather have my ashes scattered. Just not sure where.

Gundark, I saw what you were referring to when I saw Brother Bear yesterday. And it annoyed the hell out of me. The DVD keeps the same "aspect ratio" vertically speaking (the black bars on the top and the bottom of the screen remain the same throughout the movie), however, for the first 20 minutes, there are black bars on the sides of the screen as well. God, it was awful. I just could not get over that. I would've rather had the screen shift from one aspect ratio to the other via compressing the top and bottom bars than by adding the side bars.

I'm just waiting to hear that Christopher Lee's scenes wind up on the cutting room floor like they did in ROTK.

Info: OT Bootleg DVDs

Hey Feline,

Yes, the set you are talking about, the THX remastered Faces Edition on VHS was available in widescreen. I have the set. It was exceptionally limited and pulled off shelves after only being available for about a month or two in the States. Comes in a wide, flat black box instead of the stacked boxes that the normal sets came packaged in.

Deleted Scenes you that shouldn't have been

They were reinserted (in some cases) for the DVDs, but I'm arguing that they shouldn't have been cut in the theatrical releases. Okay, so I guess you can still argue The Exorcist since the rerelease a couple years ago did have it in there. C'est la vie. The others, though. Damn good stuff that never should have been cut.

Are the Evolution scenes available on the DVD? I never saw those.
