Last line of episode 3?
Time
Batman is on DVD, but it's a bare bones copy (US$15). No Features whatsoever. One of the really early DVD releases from Warner. Dunno about Batman Returns but I'm not thinking that it is available.

Haven't purchased Batman as I'm sure Burton has something nice in the works.

Sorry to drag you back off topic, but I had to get the correct info out there.

Out of town...

I'm sure some Secret Service are Democrats. Closet dems, but dems all the same.

Yes, it was fun. Rainy and shitty the first two days I was there but I was in a conference for that time so it didn't really matter. My wife came out on Thursday and it was warm and sunny from then through the rest of the weekend. Got back last night (Sunday).

James bond is awesome

I'm not saying it was the best flick, Warbler. Just a great flick overall that was overlooked by fans and critics. Brosnan is the worst in my mind, but by no fault of his own. Haven't seen the Lazenby episode. I love Moore. He's just arrogant enough to be a great Bond. And I love Connery. I grew up on the Moore flicks and saw all them before I ever saw Connery so I give a slight edge to Moore. Much like my opinion of Van Halen, I grew up with Van Hagar so I like them better than Van Roth. Just my two Lincolns.

The Holiday Special "first edition"?
Time
Why not? Think about the miles per second that Lucas' mind must need to race to develop some of the ideas that he does. I'm sure the concept of Boba was developed well in advance. Besides, drafts of ESB would have needed to already be written by that point in 1978. He needed to have prinicipal photography done by early to mid 79 to be able to work in the SFX needed for the film. It was a much more time-heavy process back in 1978 especially when you're pioneering these special effects. It wouldn't surprise me if Fett was in his head pre-ANH but he just didn't really have a place for him in the finished product.

I do see it as a prerequisite. Hence, Obi Wan's explanation to Luke in ANH that the lightsaber is a weapon of the Jedi, "an elegant weapon from a more civilized era." To me, the Force is a prerequisite to use it. Yes, Han did use it in ESB, but I always imagined him having some semblance of the Force within him. Just in very small amounts and his obstinance toward accepting the Force as a legitimate thing is the reason it never developed further within him.

Maul has the Force, but he is a henchman of the Sith. Not a legitimate Jedi Knight (fallen knight, etc.) and he never was. I also always saw lightsabers as being something that can only be used by organic beings. For example, I don't think C-3PO would be able to use it. Not just use it effectively, but use it at all.

We've had that argument before on this site and I'm still not completely happy with the answer. It was in reference to Maul using a lightsaber when he is not a Jedi (former Jedi, etc.). I think the decision was that, because he was a Sith apprentice, he could still wield one. However, Grievous is a robot (android, whatever), so how do you justify that one. He's not a living being or anything like that. I dunno. I so 'fused.

That was Fett's first appearance in anything SW related and his figure launch as a mail in special was because of his introduction in the Holiday Special. However, I wouldn't say that they "created" him. Lucas probably told them to include this guy that his staff conceived complete with tech specs. Much like how GL told Tartakofsky (sp?) that they needed to include his character Asajj Ventress in the animated Clone Wars series. The CL creators did not create Asajj, they just introduced her.

Ah ah ah. Tsk tsk. It's WWE. Remember? WWF is the World Wildlife Foundation.

Curiosity question that may have already been answered at some point or another... is Grievous officially considered Sith or is he just another random baddie thrown in the PT mix?

Out of town...
Time
Okay, since this is the "Out of Town" thread, I must take this time to announce that I will be away from the forums for the remainder of the week as I will be in my nation's capitol for a web design conference. I may or may not check the forum (I will have high speed access and an iBook with me), but I cannot guarantee anything.

Time for you to play catch up motti.

Yeah, he did. Actually, there were two singles. They were called "Can't Get This Stuff No More" and "Me Wise Magic". Decent songs, but not the best stuff VH has ever put out. I agree that Roth is a disgrace. The best, and most original, stuff that VH put out was with Hagar.
