A new petition?

I have absconded with that statement and use it to this day. Makes people laugh when I use it.

I also took a line from my freshman psychology T.A. Whenever he would stumble on some words, he would say "English speak well very I". Rather Yodalike, I admit. But I swear it works. If I stumble on words, I say it and I can speak error free for quite a while afterwards and it gets chuckles regardless of the audience I use it in.

Now if only we could find the keyboard equivalent of this statement for Shimraa to use when he types.

It's completely intentional. China's government declared that their money would be locked to the value of the U.S. Dollar and that's the way the world has to valuate their money as a result. Why they did it is to make trade with the U.S. easier. Or, in other words, to make exporting their products to the U.S. much easier since the whole world knows how bad our trade deficit is. We export a helluva lot less than we import. That's common knowledge. And we're China's #1 importer. So long as the value of the Chinese Yuan is equal to the U.S. Dollar, then the U.S. will be willing to import anything and everything. Benefits the Chinese economy in a big way.

The problem arises in that the U.S. Dollar is losing value compared to almost any other monetary unit in the world. This means that the Yuan is also losing value. Every economist in the world knows that with China's economy booming the way it has and the Chinese government loosening its stranglehold on their marketplace, that the very second that the government unlocks their Yuan from the U.S. Dollar, the value of it will skyrocket. So many people have been buying thousands (even millions) of dollars worth of Yuan in anticipation of what they feel is the inevitable decision to unlock the currency. Then the Yuan they bought will be worth a ton more than they paid for it making them overnight millionaires, so to speak. It's really an easy way to make money, and it's completely legal. However, it's all based on speculation. You never know for sure if the money you invest in will go up or down. But the Yuan going up is a given if they unlock. But that unlocking will alienate their number one importer... my homeland.

Who are you? Tony the Tiger?

As for the Zellweger/McCon version... sorry to have mentioned it, but it's out there and people should know about it so that they are fully informed. I'm not recommending watching it, just giving you all the 411.

Go to the Cubs website and pick which hat you prefer and send me the link. I'll get it for you. You also need to let me know if you want it fitted (which size) or just the cloth adjustable strap in back.

I'm assuming when you say "blue" that you mean the bright blue cap and not the darker blue that I pictured here in this thread, right?

Wow. You're right, it does look decent. I like how they tied in Lance Henriksen's Weyland character with his future Bishop character in Aliens. That's very cool. Plus, Sanaa Lathan. She's one for the Beautiful Women thread. I remember her from Love & Basketball.

James bond is awesome
Time
Even if it is said that it is not an official Bond movie, the hype that a Tarantino-directed Bond flick would get would make it associated with the Bond series by default, even if just in the minds of the fans. That would be all it would take.

I, too, like the suave and witty Bond. But I just think that Dalton's contribution in License to Kill gets unfairly frowned upon. Why can't Bond take matters into his own hands when his best friend is killed? I sure as hell would. Luke Skywalker did when Vader threatened to turn his sister to the Dark Side. That was no Jedi action there. That was sheer malice. But I don't hear people complaining about how un-Jedi-like Luke is in that scene.
