Van Helsing
Time
That was my problem with the whole movie. I heard they were making a Van Helsing movie with Hugh Jackman and I was imagining something like Bram Stoker's Dracula but with the focus being on a younger version of Anthony Hopkins' Abraham Van Helsing character. So I was stoked. Then I saw the trailer...

MORE CHANGES!!! (for the 2004 OT DVD release)
Time
I don't mind that age doesn't mess with a Jedi's ghostly appearance. But, and I think we've argued this here before but I don't remember the results, wouldn't it be more appropriate for Luke to see his father's Jedi ghost appear as he does the one time Luke actually sees him? As Sebastian Shaw? And, if death doesn't mess with the ghost, then why does Obi Wan still appear as Alec Guinness and not as Ewan McGregor?

PSYCHO_DAYV'S ROLLERCOASTER

No, they shot the footage while making the original cuts of the films and just edited out the footage. They are not going back and shooting all new stuff after the theatrical release. All their actors have committed to other projects. Elijah Wood even said in an interview that he finished all filming work with LOTR about three to four years ago.

DVDs of 2004?

It was fantastic.

Another fantastic movie I just rented and am now planning to buy is The Cooler with William H. Macy, Alec Baldwin, and Maria Bello. Damn good movie about a Vegas "cooler" (Macy) and his relationship with his casino boss (Baldwin) and a waitress in the casino (Bello). Alec definitely deserved his Oscar nom for this one.

In case you're wondering, a "cooler" is someone who can turn a casino winner into a loser just by his very presence. He has such a negative vibe about him, that a hot table turns cool.
