Jokes thread : Reloaded
Time
While she was "flying" down the road at over 10 miles per hour over the speed limit, a woman passed over a bridge only to find a cop with a radar gun on the other side lying in wait. The cop pulled her over, walked up to the car, and with that classic patronizing smirk we all know and love, asked, "what's your hurry?"

She replied, "I'm late for work."

"Oh yeah? What do you do?"

"I'm a rectum stretcher."

"A what?!?!"

"A rectum stretcher."

"And just what does a rectum stretcher do"

"Well," she said. "I start by inserting one finger, then I work my way up to two fingers, then three, then four, then with my whole hand in, I work from side to side until I can get both hands in. Then, slowly but surely, I stretch it until it's about six feet wide."

"And just what the hell do you do with a six-foot asshole?" the cop asked.

She replied, "I give him a radar gun and park him behind a bridge."

Traffic ticket = $95.00
Court costs = $45.00
Look on cop's face = priceless

This is the best of the bunch.

As for Kruger... I haven't seen the movie, but I've seen pics of her and I do think she's cute. 1000 ships? Nah. Perhaps there's a sorcery aspect to this whole story that we are not aware of and Helen was really just some ugly ass hag who had a spell on the two armies to see her for more than what she truly was (that might explain Gwyneth Paltrow, too). But who's to say for sure, right?

Kruger is cute, no question. And, to tie in the 1000 ships concept to the immortal words of Burgess Meredith, "it's time to take the skin boat to Tuna Town."

DVDs of 2004?
Time
Gonna have to check my bins as well. That should translate to a US$5.88 pricetag. Maybe even US$5.50.

Added Bubba Ho-Tep yesterday. I thought it was supposed to be a 2-disc set for some reason. All that makes it a special edition is the 17-page booklet and slip cover packaging (oh joy). Most of the booklet could've been compressed to about 10 pages if not less. And it's no different really than any other insert booklet. Otherwise, just a single disc. Good special features list, but I have yet to watch them. The movie was decent. Nothing spectacular by any means, but Bruce makes a good Elvis.

Of course it's historically inaccurate. When is a Hollywood movie actually accurate? Okay, once in a while, they're close. Then there are those Braveheart moments in which timelines are thoroughly fubar'd.

Give Peter Pan a chance. It's the truest to the source novel that I've seen. Forget Disney. Forget Spielberg. Definitely forget Jacko. I will admit that the costumes and makeup used on the Hook and Smee characters in this film did remind me a lot of the ones in "Hook", but otherwise. Jason Isaacs was great in his dual role. Adds much greater symbolism to the character of Hook as observed by Wendy, John, and Michael. Sagnier is light years better than Julia Roberts could ever be.

Give it a chance. If you don't like it... well... you'll have to come to the US to take it out on me.

Shrek 2
Time
I think it was more like...

FUNNY DAMN SCENE ALERT (DUNNO IF IT QUALIFIES AS A SPOILER OR NOT -- YOU'VE BEEN WARNED)

"Say something outrageous like, 'I'm wearing women's underpants'!"
"I'm wearing women's underpants."
"Nothing happened!"
"What?!?! Are you wearing women's underpants?"
"No! I don't wear women's underpants!!!"
* nose grows
"AH! He does wear women's underpants!!"
"I DO NOT!!!"
* nose grows again
"What color are they?"
"What kind are they?"
"Hey look, guys, they're thongs!"

Or something along those lines.

Shrek 2

Yes, believe it or not, he actually can write well... from time to time... when necessity arises.

I really enjoyed the hell out of Shrek 2. I liked it better than the first simply because I got so burned out on Shrek. Antonio Banderas added some life to the cast and easily stole the show. Plus, that Mission: Impossible bit was great!

I remember that I loved Shrek 1 when it first came out. Maybe the same or more as I love Shrek 2. But I got so burned out on all the subsequent Shrek this and that which were all over the place that I just couldn't stand the thought of the big green bastard anymore. Now, I've had enough time removed that I like it all again. We'll see how I feel in another month or two.
