I've only read the first in the NJO and it was a decent SW book. Not spectacular, but good in its own right. It can be a little overdescriptive in terms of the star battles and I was more put off by that. But the baddies are pretty damned cool.

I recall something like that as well. Not so much that particular design as a friend of mine had something that fit in that gaping hole in the Falcon. Interesting.

I don't remember inflatable lightsabers. I had the plastic lightsabers with the semi-flimsy blades that, when you swing them through the air, they would whistle. I used to unscrew the cap holding the blade to the handle and just carry the handle like a shut-off lightsaber and then I would attach the blade to a flashlight so I could get it to light up. Imagine my joy when they released the sabers in 1995 that actually extended (to a degree) and had a built in sound box and lit up. I was in hog heaven. My friends and I would shut off the lights in the lounge of our dorm and have lightsaber fights in the window so that all the other floors and buildings could see. We were geeks. But we weren't the only ones.

Agreed. On the Piece of Bollocks part, that is.

IMDb had a daily poll on Monday asking which of the summer "blockbusters" people felt would be the biggest dud. The two winners were both of the Meow Mix features this summer... Catwoman at #1 and Garfield at #2. I would have to agree.

Yes, there was audio. All of Han's audio is the same. They just overdub the human Jabba with the slug Jabba speaking the same lines in Huttese. Other than that (and Boba Fett and the tail trouncing), it's all the same.

There is only a bit of a nudity teaser. You see some frontal of one of the girls in the beginning in Achille's tent. But not enough to really make it all too worthwhile. Lots of female posterior. Sorry to deflate your hopes, Luke.

Yeah, a graduation would take all of a day and then maybe a small party for her and her friends. Not enough to keep him away as long as he has been.

I wonder how his promotion would affect the movie he was going to be working on.

My brother in law who really doesn't have much in the way of discerning taste regarding movies said the SFX were cool, but the movie itself really sucked. No story whatsoever. Kinda confirmed my fears. I'll be avoiding it.

I had walked into this movie expecting the worst after hearing all the negatives that I had heard. I wound up enjoying it. A little overdone, but enjoyable nonetheless. I give it a 3-3.5 on a 5 scale.

I saw Troy this weekend and I have to say that Kruger wasn't even the best looking woman in that movie. I liked the one who played Hector's cousin (Briseis - Rose Byrne). I thought she was infinitely prettier and a helluva lot more talented in terms of acting skills.

this has been a sticking point for a while. When Jay switched service providers last year sometime, the avatar upload function ceased to work. He hasn't been able to fix it. If you want a custom avatar, e-mail it to him.

Yeah, any threads that were started before, I believe, November 30, 2003, wound up being archived due to space on database. Sucks, but it sure makes the site a lot cleaner.
